I’ve played the last open beta that they had. I’m not totally sold on it. But I will most likely be getting it if we have enough saved up for the PS4. I feel like it has a lot of old school MMO mechanics that harken back to WoW. I sort of expected more from FF14 and its developers. I thought that they would have wanted to put more innovation into it. But I’m, also, just reallyyyyy picky with my MMOs. =p

I won’t. I’ve played a couple of the previous FF games back in the day, I can’t even remember which ones. They’re fun, until my total lack of skill with RPG’s makes it impossible to keep playing. I never level up properly and get stuck sooner or later.

Skipper’s Mama: I don’t think we’ll be getting the PS4, the lack of backwards compatibility turned us off quite a bit. I know they’re planning to do some streaming thing for past gen games, but they’ll probably charge you for it even if you already own a copy. Maybe not, I guess we’ll see. I’ve been waiting for The Last Guardian for years now, if they decide to turn it into a PS4 game, I’ll lose it…

Hazel we’re keeping our PS3 because of the lack of backwards compatibility. We’ve got a lot of DLC for Borderlands and what not so we’re not going to turn it in. We’re mainly getting the PS4 for Destiny (whenever it comes out) and The Order 1886. I’m a really big history fan and seems like a massive “me” game. Not to mention the bf is one of those people that has to stay “current” with his gaming. He hates being “left behind” in the gaming world. =p When it comes to RPGs it takes a lot of play time to get used to them and get better with them. I understand getting stuck. I never finished Skyrim because I got stuck at one point (stupid weight constraint) and wasn’t able to get passed it. I do feel that whatever changes Playstation makes it’ll be for the better of the console and won’t be “stupid”. I’m pretty sure whatever they do they won’t want to piss off their games the way XBOX did.

Skipper’s Mama: The Order 1886 looks good, too bad it’s a PS4 exclusive. Destiny isn’t for me because I suck at FPS’s almost as much as at RPG’s. Although I did have a good time playing Team Fortress 2! Besides The Last Guardian I’m looking forward to Thief. Other than that there’s not much on my radar right now. I don’t have too many games, I’m so picky…

once upon a time… before bunnies

The “newest” FF that I have played is 12, and I didn’t get too far. But I loved the ones I grew up on (VIII to X-2…yes, even X-2). Once I started university, gaming fell by the wayside. When I did have time for gaming it had to be something I could pick up after months not touching it and still be able to play. So basically Harvest Moon. I have been Harvest Moon crazy since I was a kid and have way more versions than I care to admit lol.

Sure, I have been done my degree for 2 years now, but I still haven’t managed to get back into gaming as much as when I was younger. Too much life in the way now, but I tell my husband its his lack of a driver’s license that gets in the way of my hobbies. I’m too busy driving him around when I am home to paint or play some games. I finally upgraded to a PS3 at Christmas and still hate that I can’t play my older PS games on it. So I just watch my husband play the PS3 or I play my 3DS.

I saw some videos about the new FF and it looks… interesting. But, I stopped playing FF after 8, to be honest.

I doubt I’ll ever get to FF14, but then again I was never big on FF. I’ve only done FF12 and FF4 for the PSP. I do like the Dissidia series, since it’s a fighting game. Quick ‘n easy lol
