Hi everyone

My little Wesley seems to be having a problem with his ears. He is constantly shaking his head, scratching his ears, pulling them down to groom them. When looking on the inside of his ears, he has these small, brown and white flakes that rub off easily. I’m not quite sure what this is, when I search ear mites online, it is nothing that extreme.

Strangely, this problem has just shown up within a day or two. I just took him in for a checkup a few days ago and while I told the vet I’d found little flaky patches on his skin, it was coupled with a scratch and she seemed to think it was just scabby skin from the scratch healing. When she asked if he had been scratching his ears, I had said no, because at the time, he hadn’t. Until now!

I am also a little worried because we recently have had a bit of a fruit/house fly problem in our kitchen, and the baby flies have found their way upstairs into the bunnies’ room. Last night I thoroughly cleaned out their cage and litter box, wiped everything down and mopped the floor.

Otherwise Wesley is very active and happy, running around, eating, drinking, and pooping like a happy bun.
