help! laying in water??

  callie likes to tear cardboard. i was at work today and my dad (who works from home) said that she was tearing cardboard all morning and then slept in her litterbox all afternoon. when i got home from work one of her paws was in her water bowl. when i got out of the shower, her chin was in it. when i came back a few minutes later, her other paw was in it. the room is 68 degrees (ac) so it’s not too hot. she was drinking water too. she ate all of her morning salad.
  
  just now i took her out of her cage and she laid down right away, highly unusual. i tried to express her bladder to no avail. i gave her some tummy massage. as i type this it appears that she is eating cecotropes, which would be awesome. however, she could have just been cleaning down there. maybe i’ll smell her breath!
  
  i’m afraid she might have eaten cardboard, though she never has before. and the water thing is really strange. any ideas? she is cleaning now, good sign i guess.

  since i posted, she’s had parsley, pellets, hay and water. it’s all going in fine, but nothing has come out yet. still not sure what’s going on. she’s laying next to me in bed now, which is normal. playing the waiting game now.

  What seems to be wrong with Callie? Is she having tummy issues? How soaked was Callie from the water? I would try to dry her off as much as you can. My little girl, Skipper, tends to be a spazzball when it comes to veggie time. She’ll knock over her water bowl or jump in it getting her paws all wet. I take a towel to her paws and try to dry her off as best as can be. So it’s not be unusual for bunnies to get wet from time to time.

  Hi Sleepy, Just keep up some gentle tummy rubs and try to get her to hop about a bit… If there is still no poo after 12 hrs (depending on how long it has been now. I would consider a vet visit at the earliest opportunity.

  she wasn’t soaked at all. just her paws were wet from where she was standing in the water. but she put her paws in there purposefully, it’s not that she was a klutz. she is still laying next to me. not moving around much, but she just ate some cecotropes so stuff is coming out!

  Maybe she got too vigorous with the cardboard that she had a sore mouth and paws? Also, cardboards acidic but I don’t think to the point it would cause irritation. Still, I guess it’s possible.
  Did your Dad say she was at it more then the norm?

  yes, way more than normal. she doesn’t ingest the cardboard. i’m not sure what the deal was. she seems perfectly fine today thank goodness.
