Hello, I was just curious if anyone had some recommendations on pellets.

My bunny is currently on small world Alpalpa based pellets.

(This is what It looks like, but I use the smaller bag)

My rabbit isn’t really to fond of this food though, so I was wondering what your rabbit eats, and enjoys. I normally shop at petsmart or petco for rabbit stuff.

        Thank you

My rabbit devours Kaytee fortified diet pellets. If you want a safe bet, Oxbow should be top quality. Just as an FYI, after the first few months rabbit shouldn’t be eating anything alfalfa based. It’s too high in nutrients for a bun that’s not growing.

I second the recommendation for Oxbow Essentials.

Mine adore there Martins’ Original pellets, but Oxbo is very popular. (Martin’s has less sugar so I prefer it.) Just make sure it is a basic pellet and doesn’t have any additives (seeds fruits etc.)

You should switch from unlimited pellets (and/or alfalfa) at six months of age. You may want to take a look at the article on this page (its a little early but still nice to know), and checkout the FAQ on the same site, … it should have lots of helpful and trustworthy info re your baby rabbit.

Really happy he is doing well, I’ll catch your other post later on. But you may want to seriously start thinking about either a larger cage or a pen enclosure for him. I’ll leave it at that since I don’t want to mix up your threads.

7 months for alfalfa to stop. My buns are on oxbow natural science, though they were on essentials for a while, they like this one a little more… it is oat/orchard/timothy instead of just timothy. A little more expensive, but they are spoiled. :p

I use Oxbow’s Bunny Basic Adult Rabbit Food.

Here’s a nice article about pellets:
