I think I'm overreacting, but what do you guys think?

  I’m the owner of a fifteen week-old English/French angora named Vesta. My boyfriend and I purchased her from a breeder at eight weeks old, and she’s always seemed to be in good health. From the very beginning, she’s had a very small amount of crust near her tear ducts that appears on a daily basis. It comes free very easily and her eyes have never seemed irritated. However, I’ve definitely been hearing sneezes which I hope can be attributed to some dusty hay that she spread around her enclosure (cleaned daily). I think I hear maybe one or two weak sneezes per day? I don’t believe she’s ever had a fit while I was home. However, this morning I noticed that some of her fur near her nostrils looks the teeniest bit crusty. She tends to dive head first into her pellets, so I’m wondering if maybe some pellet debris got stuck to her face? I’m just extremely paranoid about the possibility of pasteurella or any other respiratory upset. Eating, drinking, pooping, and peeing have all been totally normal, ears look great, vent is clean. She was binkying around just this morning and seems to be her usual self. I’ve seen no discharge of any kind other than this little amount of crusty stuff.
  
  It may be worth mentioning that I clipped her fur yesterday to a nice “poodle cut”, so maybe she’s a little sneezy because of potential fur flying around? I’m fairly sure that I got all of it, but she was pretty fussy and I tried to finish the procedure as soon as possible, so maybe there’s still some floating in her pen.
  
  Vesta’s my first rabbit, so I just want to make sure that I’m being a good bunny parent to her! She’s the sweetest little thing and I’d hate for her to be sick without me knowing. I’m at work at the moment, but pictures can be posted once I’m home if you guys think it’s necessary.

  If there is discharge from her nose and eyes along with sneezing, it might be worth a health check up to get a culture done just to be sure. Check her nostrils and see if they are red at all, that is sign of irritation. When Stickers had her URI her symptoms were occasional sneezing and redness of her nostrils, we caught it very early so it only took one short round of baytril to fix it up. If you haven’t had a general health check of her yet, it’s a good time to introduce her to her vet (it’s a good thing to do for any new animal anyway).

  I completely understand/sympathize with your concerns, … takes a while to be somewhat relaxed, and of course you never want to be totally casual since that’s when you Might miss something.
  
  It doesn’t sound urgent, however, you are going to want to find a vet for her, and I hope are planning to have her spayed? So a visit before that procedure is always a good idea. You could try to do that sooner rather then later (faster if her symptoms intensify) and then you’ll have a better handle on what’s happening.
  
  Good luck and enjoy your little Darling! I longed to keep Angoras (I adore fibres, and wanted to have them to spin my own yarn as well as having my little rabbit darlings, … real double bonus) but I know I’d have never kept up with the grooming. Please give her a pat for me.

  I also agree that having her see a vet is a good idea. Has she had a check up since your got her? It’s always a good idea anyway to establish with a rabbit-savvy vet. I can’t tell you how difficult it will be for you to try to find one when you are dealing with an emergency, so might as well find a good one now. It is important that the vet be rabbit-savvy! Though rabbits are not considered exotic pets, vets do need special training to treat them properly and many times exotic vets are the ones that have the training needed.

  It could be nothing, or it could be a respiratory problem, so I’d see a vet. One of mine has some of these symptoms and it’s normal for him, but in a young rabbit a preliminary visit to a rabbit vet is always a good idea.
