First of all, I’ll be taking Pep to the vet asap (hopefully tomorrow, but if the rabbit savvy vet isn’t in I’ll get an appointment for later on in the week).

In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how serious eye gunk issues usually are, or if they’re an indicator of other health problems, and what the treatment might be.

We noticed that she was getting some eye boogers last week, and that the rim of her eyes were looking a little pink, and decided to keep a closer eye on it. We were giving her alfafa hay that was REALLY dusty (a crappy quality brand I think). We stopped using it and the pinkness went away. But tonight when we checked we noticed that one of her eyes had a decent size patch of fur all gummed up in the corner of her eye, and when I got a closer look some of the fur by the corner of that eye was missing and it looked really pink and irritated.

She’s eating, drinking, peeing and pooping normal, and has been playing in the xpen today like usual. Right now she’s sulking in her cage because I bunrito’d her to get a better look at her eyes.

We’re just worried about her and wondering if anyone has gone through eye gunk issues with their buns that could offer advice/informaion.
