Hello!
I was wondering, as a brand new bunny owner, if this diet is healthy for my bunny:
I feed unlimited pellets (for now, he hasn’t quite turned six months yet… 3 more weeks and I will wean him off onto proper amount. He is 2.6 lbs.. what amount of pellets is good for that size?)
I feed unlimited Timothy hay
I feed 1 cup of fresh veggies a day. One 1/2 cup of parsley, cilantro, basil, and mint in the morning (mixed) and the same at night.. one cup per day.
One small piece of banana or carrot per day.. a very very small slice just as a treat.
And unlimited water, of course.
Is this a good diet? I had read somewhere that bunnies digestive systems are so fragile that they should only have fresh veggies once a week. Is this true?? I didn’t think it was but wanted to confirm with you guys
I am a new bunny owner and am painfully neurotic about my little Dusty!
Also-
I bought a new bedding today, it is unopened so can be returned if I need to.
I currently am using Aspen but wanted to try this.. It’s called “CosiNDry” by Supreme Bedding.
Here is a link to they’re website: http://www.supremepetfoods.nl/product/cosindry/ (I have no idea why it’s in Dutch)
Is this safe for bunnies? Is it better than Aspen? It is quite expensive but was on sale so I bought in on a whim planning to research it later.
And if any of you guys know… Is this bedding safe for hedgehogs as well? If I do start using it it would be lovely if I could use it for bother my rabbit and hedgehog! Thanks!
