Omigosh, am I ever glad that Hazel should be ready for spaying in the next few weeks (planning for the first week in July). She is getting so moody! She isn’t really “mean” but so particular about things. Yesterday I was observing her in her cage and reached in to straighten a few things up. She has two toilet paper rolls in there, so I stood them up on end. Suddenly, she gave a SMACK with her foot and grunted loudly at me and retired to her “private” corner (behind a hanging cube where she thinks no one can see her). I deal with enough of this moodiness teaching teenagers for a living… haha, Idk if I can handle this bunny brattiness! Of course, all was forgiven shortly enough – especially because she LOVES coming out to binky around on my bed. What a goofball!! It’s amazing to me how easily they make their feelings known.

Sounds like my Olivia on a regular day.

Spaying will most likely calm things down. Bunnies, especially females are territorial and don’t like their area being messed with. Spaying often reduces the territorial behavior. Although, in some cases (like Olivia’s) it doesn’t. Bunnies that are spayed young usually have improved behavior.
