Hey again everybody!
I know it has been a looooong time since I was last on here posting. (Been lurking though) Anywho, to the point. Last week Momo had an episode of not being able to right herself, she was rolling around, running really frantically into the side of her pen and bouncing off it backwards, staring at the ceiling with her head doing little whirls. So I rushed her to the vet, where naturally, she was by then acting like her fine normal self. Got sent home with meds for a potential ear infection, since the x-ray was $100, and with her small head shape, an infection would possibly not even show up, especially if it was deep. So we are doing a “just in case treatment.” We also had the E. Cuniculi test done.
Got the call in just the other day that her titer tested positive. Now this just means that she has been exposed to it at some point in her life, or possibly born with it. They did tell me that her anti-body values were elevated, and combined with her symptoms, it is possible that she may have a clinical infection. Or it could just still be an ear infection, and this is a big coincidence. They offered a treatment with panacur. But that comes with risks invoving liver problems and thinning of bone marrow.
So right now we are just researching, and trying to figure out what to do. We are not sure if we want to put her through a treatment like that on a maybe. Has anyone else dealt with this?
