Okay so if you look at my history I now have a small baby rabbit. He/she is a baby lop that my boyfriend bought from a farm store that had very bad conditions. (We had discussed adopting a rabbit QUITE AWHILE DOWN THE ROAD, but he fell in love with the rabbit when he went to get my rabbit litter for Ashe and decided to get it for me…) WELL, I fell head over heels for the little cuddle bunny, so she is staying with us. Ashe is settling down but now we have another problem….
Moogle was perfectly healthy the last three days, until about 2pm today. I went to let him/her out to play for a few hours while I supervise Ashe and noticed that Moogle’s eyes looked like she was crying. There is no white discharge and no runny nose. It just looks like her eyes made a lot of tears that had nowhere to go. My alfalfa was VERY dusty and I did my best to get it our, but it was still pretty dusty, so I’m wondering if that was it. She was itching her eyes. I immediatly changed the litter and threw out the hay and picked each piece of hay out to give her this go around. She hasn’t itched her eyes since I did this but I am keeping an eye on her. (just going to call it a girl for now lol)
I am going to plan a vet check up with the current vet just to see what she thinks but I am planning to go to another vet with both rabbits in the next few months. I don’t really know how much I trust the current vet.. Should I push for the soonest appointment possible? Is this an emergency? I’m afraid she could get an ear infection, pasturella, or something bad… if it’s allergies I can deal with that.
Does anyone have any experience with teary rabbits? I read about clogged ducts to to face shape, pasturella, and all that, but they all say there would be white discharge and other things. Any advice would be appriciated!
