@LBJ10 & LittlePuffyTail I know!
@colleenbunny, I’m with you there, I love all animals, but rabbits and dogs happen to be my favorites. (And I have a new-found love for snakes after my sister let me hold her snake.) Also, I’m the youngest out of four, I have two sisters and a brother!
@Amys Animals, I’m glad they decided to get them fixed too, believe me, as much as I love puppies, they’re SO much work, I have to clean the play pen every day (sometimes twice) because there’s so much of a mess. My dad planned on getting my male neutered this summer and the female in the winter (although, now the vet suggested Lucy first, so she’s going in for a check up July 1st, and then we’re going to schedule her spay after her check up.) I really did get more attached to Zeus than the other puppies. I mean, I loved them all from the get-go. When you watch something be born, then you handle it from birth and watch it grow, you can’t help but love it to death. But Zeus seems to have a bit of a bond with me, I spent a lot of time with all the puppies, I’d lay out a blanket and let them crawl around while I read or played on the computer, but Zeus liked to be with me the most, the rest would rather play with their siblings and mom, while he’d curl up beside me or lick my hands. But yeah, as many times as my mom told me the dogs were MY dogs, and my responsibility, she didn’t want them fixed right away, even though I offered to pay for it all. I guess all that matters is that they’re both going to be fixed, so will Zeus, when he’s old enough (Actually, that’s one of my mom’s requirements for letting me keep him.) I also can’t wait til he’s older and he gets his full coat (A project I want to keep up with, instead of just shaving him like his parents.) he’s going to be gorgeous. He may not be a show dog, but I absolutely love long hair on shih tzus. His parents abhor being brushed now, so it’s hard to keep up with their coats, and easier to just give them a puppy cut.
I took him to my god-brother’s graduation party today and he was so laid back and let everyone love on him, he just kinda laid on the chair beside me the whole time (getting up a couple times so he could drink and go to the bathroom.) I’m glad he does so good in big groups, since I am planning on training him to be a therapy dog (not really needed, but it’s something my therapist and I talked about it being a goal for myself, to possibly help with anxiety and depression.)
Anyways! I think everyone’s happy he’s staying, even my mom (she almost bought him a little shirt that says “I’m the man of the house.” but it was xsmall and still too big on him.)
