I’m going to preface this by saying that we know Foo isn’t sick, she was just at the vets two weeks ago and given a clean bill of health. Ever since we got back from our honeymoon, there has been a change in her behavior though, in that she’s become inseparable from me. She will not leave me alone or give me any peace. If I’m not on the floor with her, she will thump at me, jump up on the bed with me, or do things she’s knows she’s not supposed to (the past few days it’s been trying to get under the bed, which once she does she gets frustrated because she can’t come back out by herself) to get my attention. If I’m on the floor with her, she is right up on me, or by me demanding to be pet or cuddled. She has also started obsessively grooming my face and hair and then demanding I groom her back. I was just on the floor with her and she was sitting on my back licking and tugging my hair, then jumped down and put her butt in my face until I pet her. I know I should be happy because it seems like she’s really bonded to me, but it’s exhuasting having her be this clingly. I also feel like since it’s only been since we got back, that maybe she’s insecure since we left her for a week? If that’s the case, how can I make her feel more secure in her home or in that we aren’t going to leave her for good? Thoughts, advice, anything would be appriciated.
