A local shelter brought this kitten to our clinic with some issues that they were not equipped to deal with.  I brought her home this last weekend (she is 7 weeks old) after she was treated for fleas and all of her labwork came back okay (fecal, bloodwork, etc) for treatments and to make sure she was eating/drinking well.   As you can see, Sticky Bun has fallen in LOVE with her!!   She is so tiny compared to him…only 1.5lbs compared to his humongous 11lbs…and to watch them play is hilarious!  He rarely will even allow me to play with him or pet him anymore; he only wants her!  I am so jealous!  He is constantly running up to her and shoving his head under hers, begging her to groom him!  They chase one another from room to room, nap together…

She is supposed to be here only temporarily but I don’t know what will happen now.  I am just not sure I can seperate these best friends!!

That is a precious picture! I bet he’d like a bunny mate at some point…

Do watch them when they’re together tho. Kittens have those sharp little claws and they can claw/bite when being playful. Rabbits with their paper-thin skin are easily injured and are susceptible to abscesses. Just a head’s up.

              What an adorable picture! =]

I know how you feel! When the bf and I were still living with his parents Skipper wanted nothing to do with us. They had this fluffy cat named Willow and Skipper was IN LOVE with Willow. I was totally jealous too. =p

Oh yes, all playtime is supervised! The kitten can get quite rambunctious and occasionally she needs a ‘time out’!! I watch very carefully because I know that if he gets irritated with her, he could very easily hurt her with a well aimed kick or box!

I am still amazed at the two of them. He is a skittish bun and seems to startle at so many things, yet the kitten can run full speed and jump on him and he doesn’t move at all! Just nudges her a bit and sticks his head under hers to be groomed!! I wonder if he would like a bun-friend too. He is still so young and I really think waiting until he is old enough to be neutered is the best way to go before we get another one. I stalk the Humane Society site daily though….LOL!

Haha, oh yes, definitely wait until he’s been neutered. There’s no rush to get him a friend, but maybe somewhere around his one year mark you can start looking!
