Quinn is a large spayed rabbit weighing in at almost ten pounds, she is approximately three years old, and has been at the Berkshire Humane Society for almost a year.

She came to the shelter in August, after having been taken from an apartment where she had been abandoned. The cage she found in was the same size as her and so caked with feces that cleaning it almost broke the litter pan shovel we were using. Unfortunately because of her bad past she can be territorial in her cage, however when I take her out to play she is very sweet, but a bit nervous. Quinn will often hop up to me, obviously wanting to be near me, and then run away; scared that I might hurt her. However she keeps coming back and after a little while, she will sit by me and eat or let me pet her. In a home she would blossom and be a wonderful bunny.

Quinn loves her hay and vegetables and has had no health problems so far. We have recently had space at the shelter to give her the run of a room instead of keeping her in a cage and since then her litter box habits have improved. Quinn is not a chewer and would do best as a free range or multi room bunny. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

        Not good with small children

Needs a home as a single bun

Preferably free-range or allowed roam of multiple rooms.

She’s so pretty – I hope she finds a loving home.

Three cheers for Quinn! After sitting at the shelter for almost a year she is now going into foster care with a trained animal behavior specialist

That’s great news! Does the shelter have a Petfinders page too you can post to help their rabbits find homes? Do they get many rabbits?

The shelter does not have a Petfind page The small animals are listed here once they’re up for adoption though: http://berkshirehumane.org/adoption/small-animals/ It’s primarily a dog and cat shelter and we only have room for about five rabbits at a time, though if there’s a urgent situation we’ll make room. Last week not only did Quinn go to a foster home, but also another rabbit was adopted so we have more space Not listed on the website is a lop named Leila and two chinchillas. Unfortunately there is not much intrest in rabbits in this area, so some rabbits, even if they’re friendly, can be at the shelter for more than a year.

That’s too bad they don’t have a Petfinder’s page but sometimes it’s just due to limited resources. Man, Kai bunny is cute and so is the mouse!
