Has any one heard from any members living in the central Oklahoma region and other parts hit by tornadoes…..

I always worry when I hear about these tragedies and whether friends and their pets have survived.

Have heard from two friends in Norman OK (Bunspace and Cheezpeeps) who missed the worst of it but they have been without power etc for a bit.

The news on this just had me sobbing tonight.
I am also concerned for our OK members. I hope everyone and their pets are safe and sound.
Prayers going for you all. God Bless. xxxx

Very sad situation. Looking at the pictures is so sad…. I feel so awful for the people involved as well as the pets. Animals sometimes get forgotten in situations like this. Was very sad to read about a horse farm with 800 horses right in the path of the tornado.

I’m not entirely sure – it’s scary though – I live in tornado alley also and I hate this time of year – I get scared. There was a tornado last week in Granbury, TX too.

              More storms expected today unfortunately.

My thoughts are with my neighbors in Oklahoma.

It had me sobbing. Homes gone, family dead or missing, communities ripped apart, lives lost. I was also particularly sad about the horse farm LPT. Horses mean a lot to me also. But the children stuck or dying in the schools…everything is so sad. It’s a cruel world out there…I don’t wanna grow up D:

I’ve been riveted by the coverage… it’s so heart-breaking. Especially the kids in that school. I could not imagine. Every time one of these tragedies happen, I feel like I’m one step closer to never wanting to let my son out of my sight… In times of natural disaster, I’ve always been of the mind that if we’re going to pass, I’d rather us all be together.

The President is speaking right now… I feel bad for him. It seems like every other week he is having to make these sad addresses, whether it’s due to a natural occurrence or a nutcase. So sad…

My mother lives near Moore OK and she is ok. I was in two major tornadoes, the one that hit Moore OK in 1999 and the one that hit in 2010 in Joplin MO, both were devastating, but if there is one thing I have learned that the power of healing and prayers are the key to be able to move on. I lost my home in both tornadoes, but we are ok and moved on. My prayers go out to those that are affected by these storms.

Ohmygoodness Bulldrider! That’s insane, that both of those huge storms hit you guys. I’m so glad you and the pets survivied and have had the resources to move on and rebuild. Glad your family is okay.

We keep checking in with our Twitter friends who live in the OK area. I can’t imagine taking our pets and seeking shelter in the basement and just not knowing. I haven’t watched the news, but I keep updated online and it’s so completely devastating. It’s sad, I really really feel for those people who’ve lost everything, I can’t imagine going through this every year.

Dallas/Fort Worth is now under a tornado watch until 7pm…I hate this!

Last year I saw a tornado out my window at work churning away – luckily it was nowhere close to me but just close enough to see.

I believe tornadoes also touched down in Kansas as well.

if it weren’t for the VA on the second I don’t know what we would have done. I have always been told that I could write a book on my life because so many things have happened, too much to mention in a short time. and as for our bunnies the Joplin one we only had Mr. Hopper and Nibbles at that time, thank god. I don’t know how I would deal with 9 mouths LOL.

Yeah, tornadoes hit Wichita KS and a few other places nearby. Luckily, none near me so far. But we’ve been under tornado watch for days. The storm that came from them being nearby is what took down the power line into the neighbors yard.

Sarita – On the day the Wizard Of Oz’s Judy Garland died, a tornado touched down in Kansas. Pretty weird, right?
Natural disasters are strange things, I know there’s explanations of how they’re caused with changing air pressure and such, but I still wonder if there’s something else causing it all!

With all the tragedy, it’s nice to see some heartwarming and happy stories.

This first one is about some horses that managed to survive the Oklahoma tornado

This one made me run for the kleenex. A woman being interviewed finds her dog…. A must watch.

LPT, we just watched the interview with the lady and her dog. We cried too! That’s so amazing that the puppy survived and dug himself when he heard her.

I think Huckleberry *might* be in OK but no idea if in affected regions. Anyone heard from
                                          her via Facebook?

Stickerbunny, I was wondering why the line came down after reading about it in Chat. Not something you want randomly happening out of the blue!
