I am SO nervous. It’s going to be like a trial run for when they have to watch the buns when we go back to texas for 3 weeks.

I am going to write out a care sheet. I went to their apartment today to take a look at things and I told them it be best to just leave them in their cage for the 4 days. I know this won’t be a good idea when we are gone for 3 weeks. But this way during the 4 days they can just get the groove of care taking. I explained to her that since the area is going to be new and they will be somewhat stressed that the litterbox habit may be gone so it be best to keep them in their cage. The wife is a definite animal person. She LOVES animals, I am more worried that her husband will just hate having the buns and then decide to not want to watch them come July for 3 weeks. Which would suck because I have NO ONE else to be able to watch them!

When we leave for 3 weeks I will be over there helping them either set up a rabbit proof excercise area for them AND writing out an extensive care sheet. I am just going to have such a stressful 4 days and then a month later part with them again for 3 weeks! Gosh!

Quick question, will they forget me in 3 weeks? lol I am scared they won’t remember me

I’m going to miss them these 4 days but we are going on a kayaking trip for my husband’s birthday. Argh! I am so worried and stressed. Any tips on things to add to a basic care sheet?

I just wrote one up. It’s pretty simple, I listed what/how/when Foo eats, and added details like the fact that she NEVER eats all of her pellets, she likes burrying the leftovers under her blankie for later, and that her water bottle sometimes leaks so you need to keep an eye on it. I included the list of veggies that she is eating, in case my sister in law needs to buy more while we are gone (although I plan on prebagging meals for her). I said that if she lets Foo out she needs to watch her, but she would be fine not coming out while we are gone, maybe not happy, but she’ll be okay. I included things to look for, like watching the potty box and eating habbits and included info for both her vet and the emergency vet just in case. I also made a list of things Foo likes/dislikes. And of course stated that she should never be picked up, EVER unless it is truly an emergency and the house is burning down.

I always add “Signs to call the vet” on my care list, as a person who doesn’t know rabbits may not know. And of course, add the vets numbers and any emergency numbers as well.

It is really hard to leave the buns. I miss mine if I go on a day trip!
