  Hello everyone. Was so relieved to find this forum. I am in love with my new house bunny but keen to do the right thing by her. We are starting the litter training and in the first few days our bunny (about 12 weeks) was going in every corner there was and I think (although I know it’s partly because she’s still young) it’s because she was confused by having shavings on the floor and in the box. I don’t think she knew the difference and where she should go, although she did like sitting in her box and eating hay. So after reading some other posts here I have just removed all the shavings and made up a nice comfy litter box. We’ll see how this goes. She is sitting in it right now looking pretty happy. The problem is I’m feeling really guilty about her having nothing on the floor of her cage. It looks so uncosy. What can I put in her bed area which is her dark out of the way place? Is there a soft cotton wool type bedding I can buy? Should I put anything on the floor of the whole cage? Seagrass mats? Do I invest in a silly cuddly bed thing? Any ideas would be great.   Thanks so much for posting. It’s a solid plastic floor. The cage has a covered area (though she seems to like trying to push this away so it might not last long) and has a big litter box (cat tray) with pellets, chippings and hay. It’s just the grey plastic floor seems so cold and uncomfy. Especially for her nesty bit that’s covered up. Any ideas?

  I think the grass mat would be the best bet for her then.

  erm. I guess over 1m long. I didn’t measure it just took the one recommended by the shop. Biggest they had.

  That is probably fine for a baby, it may be too small though once she grows up.

  Yes, that’s what I figured. Any ideas on the flooring question? Should I put anything on the plastic floor? Wood chips / litter confuses her and she won’t use the litter tray. Maybe seagrass mats? Does she need something snuggly? Vet bed?

  Great, thank you. I’ve heard a lot of people talking about fleece which sounds cosy but isn’t this dangerous if they eat it?

  It does depend on if your rabbit is a chewer or not. So it could be a concern. The nice thing though with fleece is that you can wash it, you cannot do that with sea grass mats unfortunately.

  This is true. Thanks so much. Your posts and reading a few other threads has really put my mind at rest and think I’ve created an ok home for her for now. No doubt we will add bits and pieces in time. She is being spade on Tuesday so hopefully that will help her with the litter too.
