So I planted some herbs about a week ago. I planted, basil, oregano, mint, and rosemary. Well I’ve been of course checking on my plants everyday and I noticed a couple days ago my basil had HOLES in it! >=( Well the holes are getting bigger. I checked around the planter and stuff to see if I could catch the bug but there was nothing around! I need to check under the leaves to see if it’s aphids but I have not seen aphids around here in soooo long.
Someone recommended using diatomaceous earth but I don’t know how to use it. Keep in mind these herbs will eventually be eaten by rabbits. I need something safe that won’t hurt my rabbits. I’ve been looking up the diatomaceous earth and it seems good but I don’t know how to use it? It says it needs to be kept dry to be effective so that means I couldn’t sprinkle it in the planter….What other things can I use around and in the planter that won’t harm the rabbits or herbs?
The bugs is only after the basil…Not the mint, oregano, or rosemary. My dad said it’s because they are too fragrant but I didn’t think that would bother a bug…
I am a novice gardener….I just need some advice….
My basil is going to die if I don’t find a solution soon…
