Has anyone here used Care Credit before? The vet I have to take my rabbits to now is so expensive (though I really like them), that I need some kind of payment plan, but they only offer it through Care Credit.

I have care credit. It’s a pretty nice thing to have….Especially if you have a really expensive bill and you can only pay half…You can put half on the card (or all) and pay half with what you have. Also, you may be able to find another vet that is cheaper. My vet is pretty expensive but she is a REALLY good rabbit vet and I wouldn’t want to switch. I think care credit is a good thing.

I have – your bill has to be at least $300 though to get the “promotional” plan which basically means you pay out the amount in 12 to 18 months without a finance charge but you have to pay at least the minimum and not be late to keep the “promotional” plan.

Thank you so much! I decided to get it.

We also have Care Credit and love it – especially for emergencies (which is pretty much all we use it for). We have used it twice, paid off on time with no problems.

I have care credit. Like Sarita said, make sure to pay it off within the promotional plan and not be late or the fees will get nutty. It’s important to be aware of the promotional time frame. I found it can be as short as 3 months, or 6 months, 12 months. I haven’t done the 18 month promotional plan before.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but for those that have used care credit have you found it to be better/worse than using a regular credit card?

I have a credit card for emergencies in general (vet, house repairs, etc…). I’m just wondering if there’s a benefit to care credit over the run of the mill credit card?

                      Hey MD,

Personally I like it more because (depending on the amount) it lets you have a period of months with no interest if you pay it off within that time period. When we got the Tans spayed and neutered we used $500 and I believe we got the 6-month plan with 6 months to pay off with no interest. This was a huge benefit in our opinions.

Thanks for the info TL! Definitely something I will/should look into.
