I do hope these load in the right order!

        The seeming perfect Easter Bunny. . . . .

The only problem is that it turns out this basket is more or less edible. . . . .

And, dear me, it sticks between the teeth as if you needed flossing for a long time. . . . .

And so now it’s jelly beans all over!

And the race is on to eat jelly beans before Mom scoops them up.

Poor, poor Easter Bunny!  He hides in the closet because Mom and Dad are laughing so hard!

In those pictures he is probably around 11-12 pounds. At his most he was just under 15; aging as he is now, he has probably dropped just under 13.

I think those magnificent ears make him look larger. He’s just so magnificent.

Well, thank you so much. (He’s blushing.) I don’t know how true it is with other breeds, but certainly with Flemish a kit with strong cartilage in his ear area and large earspan is likelier to have good health, longevity, attractiveness, etc. than one with weaker ear cartilage.

Here’s a set of real helicopter ears on my Lizzie years ago:

I think she was around 10-12 weeks in this picture.  Even very good Flemish may reach a point where the length of the ears is more than the cartilage can support and it bends a bit . . . .

That’s interesting – I didn’t know that about Flemmies. I’ve only met a few in my lifetime in person. I rescued one from an animal shelter one time for a rescue I volunteered with – they surrendered him because he had gotten too large – I had to laugh at that and was just glad that they at least took him to an animal shelter. He went to a very good a loving home.

Ah, we need more happy endings like that!
