  I have a stroller for Mimzy, I don’t really take her out very much in it at all. But I always heard that harnesses were dangerous for bunnies for numorous reasons so I decided on a stroller instead and I don’t have money to purchase a carrier atm. I figured a stroller is easier to just push around anyway.
  
  But if I take her out of the stroller, I basically have to unzip it almost all the way, which kind of scares me sometimes – what if she gets loose soon as I open it? So, in this case, would a harness be ok for her to wear ONLY when she is in the stroller? That way I was thinking I could just hook the leash on right before unzipping it all the way. But I would have the leash with as much slack as possible, so that in case she were to get loose, it wouldn’t pull her. If that makes sense?

  I personally think it would be more dangerous in the stroller – more likely to injure herself if she jumps out – it could break her back.

  I agree that a stroller doesn’t sound like a good idea because of the possibility of injuries when jumping out, or getting lost. Are you using a stroller as a stand-in for a carrier to transport Mimzy? Or is this just for leisurely outdoor time with your bunny?

  Mostly for just leisurely time, which is not a problem because I can put her in and take her out of it while still in the house. It isn’t very far from the ground at all so she would not have a big jump. It’s the same height jump as her second level of her condo which she jumps off all the time.
  I haven’t used it to take her to the vet in it yet. I was just thinking about in times in case I do have to use the stroller to take her to the vet, the basket part of the stroller collapses if not attached to the frame. But I did just talk to my mom about it and we are going to look into getting some boning to line it with and make it sturdy, that way it can stand on it’s own which will help out a lot for the time being that I don’t have a carrier.
  
  I’m hoping to have a hard plastic carrier before she has to go for a check up or anything again, I just haven’t found one that I really like and haven’t had the money for that yet. But I do plan on getting one soon.

  Believe it or not, she doesn’t chew or dig with the mesh or fabric at all. Anytime she’s in here, it is not for very long at all, and usually rare. It is not the safest for a car, so I do want to avoid using this in a car if possible, so I am hoping on a good carrier soon.

  I put Vegas on a harness and she doesnt seem to mind at all. As long as you aren’t tugging and pulling on them they should be fine. Gotta let them walk you(;

  I had her on a harness when I first got her, I didn’t realize they can be dangerous to them sometimes, but I did let her run and hop wherever she wanted to go. I basically was walking quickly along with her
  She’s grown out of it now, but I do definitely agree that an x-pen outdoors is more safe now, or a stroller if I wanted to go for a walk with her.
  
  So if I were to get a harness for her to wear while in the stroller, if for some reason I had to open it and get her out, I would probably use one of those retracting ones that can be pulled out pretty far, so it wouldn’t pull her if she did happen to jump out. I have yet to have an incident that she tries to jump out when opened, and it is a fairly deep basket for her to sit in.
  Though again, I’m hoping I never have to open it with her in it while using it outside. I would like to actually get a carrier that I could create a secure attachment to the stroller frame and use that instead of the basket. That was my initial idea and probably a lot safer and easier than the basket it comes with

  I caved and just bought that same exact stroller recently and I love it (except the wheels suck but I hope make that a little better); it’s perfect for my two buns. A small litter box fits perfectly in half of it which I put in the back. Front half I have a folded up blanket. Whenever I open it outside, my buns are in the back sitting in the litter box (I also put hay in the box) so they’re extremely unlikely to jump out. I have dwarfs who are not dare-devils so that might contribute to why I have no worries about mine jumping out.
  
  Please update if you mod it so it can stand on it’s on. I’ve been brainstorming about doing something about that as I’d prefer not to take a carrier and the stroller if I drive to a park or something. Think it’d be quite unsafe to transfer them from one to the other outside. I’d personally get my buns micro-chipped than getting a harness in the extreme what-if scenario though.
