Hi y’all,
I’m new here and I’m having trouble with my bunny Havok (his name sums him up in one word). He’s (about) 8 month’s to one year (we’re not sure cause he bit the vet when she tried to look at his teeth). Anyways, Havok has been a relatively good bunny aside from enjoying the taste of my paint and baseboard, and he potty trained almost immediately. Recently, I took Havok into the pet store where we got him from so the owner could tell us how old he is etc. I know he didn’t like the trip because Havok is an outgoing and friendly bunny and on the ride down he hid in the corner of the cat carrier I used. When we got there, she held him to look at him and he DESPISES being held (he scarred my neck once trying to escape). We brought him home and a couple days later I noticed his failure to pee inside the box. I’m a law student so there have been a couple times his box has gotten pretty dirty because I have had exams to focus on and he’s gone outside once or twice until I cleaned it. This is different. He’s been consistently peeing outside his box and never in the same place. I read that after a stressful change or event he will be more inclined to mark his territory. We’re also getting him neutered soon which is also supposed to help.
Anyways, my questions are 1. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to change the behavior, 2. How long the marking would last (assuming that’s what it is) and 3. If it would be anything other than a stressful event.
I’d really appreciate the help
my carpet can’t take it anymore! Haha
