Is there who has an angora bunny/guinea pig on here? I’ve got a couple of questions, my friend might be getting a white angora piggy soon and I’d like to be able to make things out of the clippings.

Has anyone got any tips on dyeing, carding, spinning wool?

Can you use guinea pig fur?

Can anyone show me anything you’ve made?

        Is it even possible?

Are they getting a rabbit or a guinea pig?

I’ve never heard of an angora guinea pig – they have Silkies and other long haired breeds, but not angoras. And I’ve never ever heard of anyone spinning guinea pig fur.

A guinea pig, I wasn’t sure of the breed because they are rescue pigs, it just says long haired.

Okay, got it. There are several long hair type guinea pigs, like Silkies and Peruvians (probably more but those are all I’m really familiar with) – I used to help at a guinea pig rescue and we used to get alot of those 2 types in.

I have a angora rabbit. My advice is to really think about their grooming needs. My 4 lb little girl sheds year round and gets tangled so easily. My routine is to give her a full body brush every other day and trim her every 2 weeks (it grows back super fast). I personally have not done anything with her fur though hopefully someone else can answer those. Good luck with whatever little friend you decide on.

Its shocking at how much hair can come off such a small thing.
