I just got an idea.  I don’t know if it will work or not considering a lot of stores a pure evil.  Easter is going to be approaching faster than we can blink and before we know it the rescues will be full of abandoned Easter bunnies. Sad, but true.  If we can all make flyers with information regarding Easter bunnies and information on rabbits saying why rabbits don’t make good “Easter gifts” and other helpful information and hand them to pet stores and other stores that lots of people may shop at then we may help spread the word that bunnies aren’t toys.  Anyone want to try?  You might want to call store managers first before trying to go out there and failing first.  We know pet stores can be evil and they may not accept helpful information.  Other non-pet stores may be more accepting, though.

I can help make the flyers if you need help.

My pet supplier refuses to sell bunnies coming into the Easter period. I guess that’s a win of a different kind.

I forget what site I was on, but they posted a great poster that said something like “You don’t buy your child a reindeer on Christmas, so why buy them a bunny on Easter?” and I thought that was clever! I’ll try to find the site, it was a rabbit site.

That’s a good one.  I know there are a lot of flyers going around online about rabbits and Easter right now. I am working on a brochure.  I will post it on here for everyone to see so you guys can give me tips or ideas.  I am not going to print them out until I know I can take them places.  lol

I am also going to make flyers to post around town.

What kind of places allow fliers to be posted? That’s the problem I would have! haha. I guess I could start calling around now.

A lot of vet’s offices have a bulletin board they allow people to post stuff on. I’m sure they would be willing, although I don’t know how strategic such placement would be. Would Petsmart be okay with it? Most don’t sell rabbits anymore.

Yeah I am definitely going to post something at my vets office, I am sure they wouldn’t mind. I hope petsmart wouldn’t mind. Petco might. It seems Petsmart is getting more into the well-being of animals more than Petco. At least here anyways. Now if only they would stop selling all animals together. That would be nice. It would be best to call your local petco/petsmart and make sure it’s okay with the manager before going out there and having to deal with them. =)

It never hurts to ask. I can’t really think of any place else. Most businesses seem to discourage the public posting flyers because then EVERYBODY wants to post their flyer. Hehe, if you had some money you could rent a bill board.

lol, yeah I wish I could rent a billboard! I am just hoping that people will understand this is for a good cause, but I know most businesses could care less, unfortunately.

There is an aquatic pet shop near me as well as Petland that sells bunnies. I have no idea why an aquatic pet shop sells bunnies?? Unfortunately, I don’t think they will really care but I’m sure it would not hurt to ask. Though they’re very rude there =/
I was actually thinking about this a couple months ago. I almost want to go hang out at pet stores around easter and talk to anyone who starts looking at the bunnies lol.
I have a stroller for Mimzy, maybe I could take her with me when I go to ask. She will be my testimony because she was an easter bunny to a little girl hehe.
