  I have a new bunny. He is young about 5-6 weeks old. He went to the vet on Thursday and was given a clean bill of health. I am just waiting on the fecal test to come back.
  
  Meanwhile on Thursday he left a bit of messy but formed poo over night. Everything else was regular. Yesterday I gave his cage a cleaning. This morning he has made the same mess during the night, but there were plenty of regular poops as well. But now all morning long he is leaving stinky messes. Some come out as grape clusters, others come out as large blobs. It is darker, a bit green, and shiny but nothing is runny and he does not have a messy bum.
  
  He is eating tons of hay and pellets. The only changes I have noticed in him is that earlier this week his diet was mostly hay (mixture of alfalfa and timothy) and just pellet nibbles. Around Thursday he started eating more pellets but was still eating tons of hay.
  
  Could the trip to the vet trigger irregular poops? The vet did prescribe him proviable RB paste for a week. He has only taken one dose well – yesterday morning. Is anyone familiar with this medicine? Does it cause bunnies to go to the bathroom more?
  
  He is acting perfectly fine and normal.
  
  Does this sound like the beginnings or diarrhea, extra cecals or just reaction to changes?
  
  Any advice??? thanks!

  Proviable RB is just a probiotic made especially for rabbits – it’s not a medication and I would go ahead and continue this.
  
  It is probably just a change in diet – I would wait to hear about the fecal test and if needed the vet can prescribe something he has coccidia.

  Is he eating mostly just the alfalfa out of the hay mix? You could try him on just the Timothy (or other grass hays) and pellets. Or continue with this hay mix and start switching to a Timothy based pellet.
  
  What pellets do you have him on? Are they the same as what he was on before you got him?

  Thanks – I got him to take more of the proviable. He is not a fan.
  
  He eats all the hay and it is well mixed together.
  
  The pellets are different than what he was on before. The local rabbit shelter suggested this brand for a young bunny.
  
  The messy poop seemed to happen all in about 1-2 hours yesterday, but was pretty constant. But then everything was normal after that. There was very little mess left last night. But since eating this morning and playing, he’s had a few stinky bits again.
  
  I’m hoping it is just the diet change. Hopefully the vet will call tomorrow or Tuesday and I can go from there if things have not fixed themselves by then.
  
  I just didn’t know if what I was seeing was the beginnings of something serious. Thanks!

  Oh wow. He is really young to be away from his momma!
  
  Could you post a picture of the poos? Grape clusters sounds a lot like cecals.
