  Hi, not sure if this belongs in here or in bonding, so apologies if it’s in the wrong place!
  
  Earlier today my buns were enjoying some time out in their run in the garden, binkying, eating lots of grass etc. I check on them periodically, just to make sure they’re ok and not diggin out or anything. They were absolutely fine for about two hours when the last time I checked on them I noticed they were grooming each other, they hardly ever do that when we are around so I stopped and watched them for a while as it was super cute! Then they started circling each other, each one trying to mount the other and just going round and round and round. Then the fur began to fly! I rushed over and banged on the side of the run, this startled them enough that they stopped and I was able to split them both up and bring them back inside. I put them in their free roam area and checked them both other, no injuries but Freya had clumps of fur hanging out of her. It looked like it was all her fur that had been flying as Merlin was totally fine.
  I let them run in their free roam area for half an hour so I could keep an eye on their interactions together and they were acting totally normal. Flopping, zooms, binkies, nose touching when they passed each other. Seemed like they had forgotten their little squabble. As I write this they are snuggled up together in their cage like nothing happened.
  They’ve only been bonded and living together for about a month so I figure theyre still sorting out who is boss. Everyone has a lovers tiff at the beginning, right?
  So is everything ok, do you think they might have another fight?

  Have they ever been outside in the run together? Perhaps there was a territory problem happening there?

  Yeah theyve been out several times. It’s a new run, we only got it two weeks ago now the weather is starting to get better. They are never out if neither of us is around so we can always check on them and this has never happened before.
  We do move the run to a new location each time we put them out so they can munch the grass.

  Hmm, I was thinking if you had one bun before the other and the one bun had already claimed the run, then that might help explain it. Huh, something must have set them off. No telling what it was though. They are okay now? I would just keep an eye on them. If they don’t break out in another fight, then they are probably fine. Squabbles happen sometimes.

  They seem fine now, if not more cuddly together than ever and Freya has been grooming Merlin like mad!
  It’s my first experience having a pair of rabbits so I’m fairly new to how they interact with each other. My guess was that they just had a little spat. My boyfriend thinks that since it seems to have started with grooming that perhaps one got a bit over enthusiastic and hurt the other one by accident and that’s what kicked it off.

  A month is still early in a new bond so little squabbles, humping, etc, is quite normal. They may still try to work out “top bun” at times. As long as there is no injuries or serious aggression, I wouldn’t be concerned.
