I have two neutered male rabbits. One is very social and comfortable around us but the other one is a very nervous rabbit. Just in the last few weeks he has gotten a lot more comfortable around us and has started to run in circles around our legs when we are in the room with them. I am very happy that he is excited to see us, but this new behavior has led to an unfortunate problem.
Sometimes he will dash out of nowhere and try to run in circles around me. When he comes from behind me and I’m walking, he often runs into my foot as I take a step. He doesn’t get kicked very hard but it scares him and he runs and hides for a while. I am very concerned I will lose all of the progress I made with him if he thinks I am intentionally kicking him. I am even more concerned that he will get hurt because of this. I have started shuffling my feet when I walk through the room so I don’t accidentally kick him.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what I should do about it.
Thanks!
