I live in Central/South Area of Florida. So this just popped into my head when I was thinking of one time when my family and our dogs had to evacuate for hurricanes. And I thought about how in June, hurricane season will be here. It’s not too hard to evacuate with dogs (and also we haven’t had a super bad hurricane in my area in the past few years *knock on wood*) because they generally don’t need a cage, so you just have to throw food and a couple toys and you’re good. But I was thinking how my family has an “evacuation” kit, and we have one for our dogs. So I was thinking about how crazy it would be to evacuate with my four bunnies! Obviously they would be coming along with us! I have seen the first aid kit list on here before, and so I would take that with me.
Basically what I want to know is if anyone has had to “evacuate” with their buns before, and what you took with you. Like what was the cage situation? I have four buns and they are in a bonded pair. It looks like my new one is going to bond with my other loner. So I’ll have to keep the two pairs separate. This is obviously months away and I hope and pray that we don’t get a bad enough hurricane here! But I want to be prepared and start making a “kit” now, slowly over the next few months!
Even if you’ve never had to evacuate for any reason with your buns, I’d love any suggestions for cage situations, how to pack it all up, etc! Thank ya!
