So today I started a bonding session with the three of them. Actually it was kind of just an experiment to see how they would react being in my house. I set up two pens side by side and put Rascal and Valentine in one and put Marley in the other. Rascal had a totally different reaction to Marley than when he did at the rescue. lol He kept nipping at Marley and wanting to chase him. Once Marley actually tried to box with Rascal through the bars. After a while Marley would just go up to Rascal and sniff then run away. I think he got the idea that Rascal was telling him who’s boss in this house. Valentine has no problems with new bunnies. She is a totally chill rabbit. I didn’t want to put them in the same pen at this point because I just wanted to see how they would react this morning. I had them side by side for about an hour. I will do another bonding session in a bit but this time they will be together in the small bathroom. I think it will be easier that way so I can easily supervise. I have my spray bottle and towel ready. This time since they will actually be in the same area together they won’t be in there for an hour. Maybe just 15 minutes….Don’t want the kids getting feisty or angry. So that’s how it’s going to go. 15 minute bonding sessions in the bathroom. I am wondering how many sessions to do a day, though? 3? I was thinking about three…
They are housed side by side. Marley is in the condo and Rascal and Valentine are in an x-pen. They aren’t close enough to nip though…I was worried about putting them to close together.
If you are bonding right now, what are your techniques and strategies?
