All of the sudden my bunbun hit puberty, and hit it hard. Almost over night she went from gentle, independent, bunny. Too all up in my face, pooing on my bed, and humping my cat, bunny. I know its hormones, and I’m getting her fixed on Tuesday, but in the mean time, I don’t know what to do! I can’t her out because all she does is jump on my bed and she pees and poos on it. So I can’t let her out of her cage, but I don’t want to have to keep her in her cage for another week! Any suggestions?

You could take her into the bathroom and play with her on the floor in there. Bring a book or a toy for you to play with her, and just let her hop around and explore. If she pees or poos – easy to clean surface. A bunny can take limited confinement for a week without any real problem. If you have a hallway or other room with easy to clean floors, then block off another area for the same reason. But bathrooms can be best for this short purpose.
Tuesday will be here very soon.

Silly bunny! I’m glad you already have the spay appointment set. Do keep in mind though that these behaviors tend to persist for a little bit after the spay while the body sorts itself out…and it can be quite frustrating in the meanwhile. But overall you are definitely doing the right thing for her .

Can you cover your bed with a shower curtain whiles she’s out? It makes it discourages peeing and it protects your bed. That or you could lay on the bed and just boot her off when she tries to get up there?

Good thing you only have a few more days of this!

I tried taking her in the bathroom, it was mostly feet stomping. When I boot her off my bed, she just hops back up. She’s the most determined creature I’ve ever seen. She doesn’t pee or poo on the bed as long as I’m petting her constantly :p I might have to try putting a shower curtain down, especially if the behavior persists after she’s fixed for a while.

I have a squirt bottle with just a tiny bit of vinegar in it. My bun has learned that it’s not very fun when you don’t listen to the word “NO”! Haha

I’d just squirt her whenever she jumps on the bed. She should decide there are better things to do quite quickly.
