I feel like such a bad bunny mom! One of my babies has arthritis so bad…and now Dizzie has a leaky butt! I noticed the issue with Dizzie when she left a little brown wet spot on my carpet a few days ago…and then here and there I found another one. Sometimes I noticed the liquid comes out with her cecotropes, but she doesnt always eat them. I got up this morning and there was a few dried spots on the rug in her room and a dried spot on her floor. As of yesterday, I put a hold on giving her veggies and just gave her a small amount of pellets and unlimited hay. She had some small spots, but they were still there. Today I am only giving her hay in hopes that her tummy will “regulate” itself and she will feel better. I will take her to the vet if need be, but it really stresses her out, so i didnt want to if i didnt have to. I havent changed anything in her pellets or veggies. She gets fresh water everyday and treats here and there.
A little background on Dizzie… I got her from a rescue where they took very good care of her, but they didnt know much about her history, as she was left on their doorstep in a box. Shortly after getting her, she started to get some diarrhea (not like the leaky butt) so i took her into the vet where they completely examined her….teeth and all. She got a clean bill of health and was put on an all hay diet for a few weeks. She eventually got better and has been good ever since…until now.
Should I take my little Dizzie-kins to the vet??
