        dont get murdered

now that makes sense considering the kooks out there

i got a stun gun.  while waiting on it i said i am going to try it on myself to see how strong it is.    when it came in it was charged.  i slid the button n pressed the other one first b4 trying it on myself.   woweeee      i changed my mind right quick about btrying it out on myself.    that thing sounded powerful

my hubby refuses to let me get a gun.  i could go behind his back.  then i thought no he is scared of his temper n i need to respect his feelings on the matter.   i told him i wouldnt  get one up front or behind his back.   i wanted to get one b4 all these laws changed again.  especially after that school shooting

I wouldn’t go behind his back to get a gun.

If my hubby got a gun without telling me, I would be pissed. I will never allow one in my home.

We have a taser, and I don’t even like having that in the house. I’ve tried it on myself, through pants and it still left a mark. I don’t think I would even want to just keep guns around the house, unless it was for a job or something ( I mention that because my goal is to work with the FBI or agency of the like and I know I will be issue a firearm).

No matter how many shootings, they are never going to outlaw guns. Period. So if further down the road your hubby agrees to a gun, you can still buy one. There is no rush, despite what the media may try to paint. Though, honestly, most people keep a gun in a gun safe or case with a key for safety (cause of kids etc) and if someone breaks into your house to kill you, you aren’t likely to have time to get the key, go to the gun safe, get the gun, turn the safety off, possibly unlock whatever gun clip some people put on them, point, shoot. IMO a stun / taser gun is way more effective for home safety anyways, you don’t have to keep so many locks to keep your kid from playing with it and accidentally killing their friend, so you can actually reach it in time to use it against someone who breaks in.

Don’t get it behind his back. If my boyfriend did that to me, honestly… it would be a “ok, grats, enjoy it i’m out of here”.

Turn your mind back, oh, about 4 years ago: “Guns will be outlawed! Panic in the streets!” Didn’t happen. Not likely to happen. And a “stun gun” is almost as likely to be fatal as a “real” gun–I would strongly suggest *not* testing one on yourself any more than you’d test a real gun on yourself. Human hearts frequently dislike having their electrical impulses messed with. If you’re like me and have a stent, it could cause an arterial rupture or a clot in a really unpleasant place. Also, you’ll need to check your local/state laws about carrying one around. In my state, they’re classified as “dangerous weapons”, same as a gun. If you have children, I would very strongly suggest locking it away; you can put a trigger lock on a gun–no such luck with a taser.

Is this a handheld one where the electrodes have to come into contact with someone? Those are only good if someone grabs you from behind and you have it in you pocket. Then you have to somehow get it out of your pocket and get them either in the neck or the groin. Just like that gun in the gun safe, it’s unlikely you would be able to use it in time. I have stun gun that my husband bought a long time ago. Never used it once.

No kids here so I could keep it loaded by my bed.  But  I must respect hubbys feelings on the matter.   Yes the stun gun I have to hold it against someone.  I keep that by my bed.

The pepper spray on my  key chain.

I know to punch the throat poke the eyes and soft places like face n ears with anything available keys pen etc and the groin too then run.

With this cat scan results tomorrow it is good I didn’t use it on myself.  No telling what is up there.

My Mom has a permit to carry.  Came in real handy too.

You are right.  4 years ago people were in a panic about getting a gun.  And you can still get them.  True. The big rumor Obama was going to outlaw guns.  Never happened.

My Mom swears by guns.  I used to not.  Cuz of the reason it can be turned on the homeowner being robbed by the time the person gets the gun unlocked etc.

My neighbor who is single has one.

You can also put a can of hairspray by your bed.  That will blind someone for a bit long enuf to get away.

                    Gosh I am so hungry

Oh BT, I’m glad you didn’t try this on yourself. I think the pepper spray incident was enough for one lifetime.
My husband always has had guns. I am scared to have them here but I know how to use one if I have to. I am a bit worried about how many will be coming with us when we move. Likely he’ll just sell these and buy new ones when we settle.
It’s just a shame we have to live in such a world where things like this happen. My kids have led very sheltered lives up here on the edge of nowhere. I worry very much how they will adapt to being back in the states. You don’t see stuff like what happened in Newtown here.
