My bunny is around 2 months old. I started training her 2 weeks ago. I feel like I’ve tried out all the tips and tricks I could find on the internet. I put hay in her litter box, put multiple boxes throughout the area, set her into the litter box whenever I witnessed her pooping, and praised her when she pooped/peed in the box. What else is there to do?? She poops all around my room and pees occasionally. She doesn’t pee as much anymore… pretty much only if there is something new like a towel or blanket that she hasn’t claimed as her territory yet. The true problem is her poop. It drives me nuts! She just goes everywhere and anywhere she wants. I want to give her 100% freedom in my room but I don’t know what to do. Also, I read that you should start out in a small area and give her more and more space as she learns where to poop. But all I have is her cage and then my room… no x pen or anything like that. So how am I supposed to give her play time out of her cage if she poops everywhere?
Also, what do you do when you witness your bunny doing something bad like chewing up something they shouldn’t or peeing where they shouldn’t? What can you do so they understand that the behavior is unwanted and bad? I’ve read that you should talk in a firm voice, put the rabbit back in the cage, hit the ground firmly, etc.
Thank you for the help!
