  Hello, not sure this is in the right place but I’m after some advice. What “games” can I play with my bun? Firstly, he’s a Netherlands Dwarf and is about 4 months old, but he absolutely does NOT like being touched, he will bolt, so no touching games. He is finally comfortable coming up to me when i’m laying on the floor and will take treats directly from my hand, but he is a bit stand-off-ish. When he’s let out of his cage (from about 6pm to midnight) he plays will all his toys, of which there are loads, tunnels, chew toys, cardboard castle, balls and his latest toy, a paper cup! He will run around and binky sometimes, but he will spend a lot, and i mean A LOT of time just sitting, always in the same spot, in the meatloaf position just not doing anything. All the while I’m laying on the floor doing nothing and i’m left wondering if he cares whether i’m there or not? Sometimes he will even sit in the meatloaf with his back to me.
  
  What games can I try and interest him in to interact with me? I’ve tried rolling the cup to him, he sometimes nudges it with his nose but more often he’ll pick it up and throw it (in the wrong direction!) and after doing this a couple of times he then ignores it/me.
  
  My bun is gorgeous and he has a lovely gentle demeanour, but I’m not sure if this is all one way, does he care that I’m there, how can I interact with him in a way that he’ll enjoy? I want to make sure that he’s happy.
  
  Any advice is gratefully received, or am i just being a paranoid new bunny mummy?

  Hi Buckley’s mum, I have a Netherlands Dwarf at four months too! Have you considered clicker training? It’s a great way to interact with your bun.

  Hi HotGinRun, I thought he might be too young for clicker training, but maybe that’s something I should look into. Also, Buckley isn’t great with treats, there’s only one thing I’ve found which is equivalent to bunny cocaine! I need to look up that website you recommended, and will need to look into purchasing a clicker too. He did make me laugh today I was laying on the floor taking pictures of him when he got more interested in my camera than me and he was all over me like a rash – it was soo cute!

  If you have a smart phone, you can download an clicker app (but you might want to try it with the volume on low so you don’t scare your bunny). I’m trying to clicker train my little Bean now and I’ve found that he’s much more receptive to training at twelve weeks than he was at eight weeks.
  
  What are you using for bunny cocaine? I want to try!
  Bean will do almost anything for a couple blades of wheatgrass.

  Hi HotGinRun, I hadn’t thought of downloading an app, but I’ll now look for one. The “bunny cocaine” is called Carrotyn by a company, I think, called “Naturals” the packaging is also entitled Boredom Breaker, but I’m not sure if this product is available in other countries, depending where you are.
  
  It’s now time to chase that waskly wabbit to bed so I can go to bed, so, cue Benny Hill music and let the 45 minute chase commence!

  Sorry this wont help the question because I have the same problem.
  
  Ok, I have. A 4 month old wooly gened lionhead he is very gentle and I can pick him up and pet him he comes to me when I have treats but most of the time he sits in one spot where ever he is either in his pen or on my bed or….just anywhere. He is not very active. He likes to cuddle though but not play. he licks me also. I have A couple toys but plan to get ones that he will actually play with. Is their any that you guys recommend ? Store bought or from Home? the most I have seen him active is when i first come home. He is free in a bunny proofed room. And also when hes outside he seems to be more active too. Let me know any ideas thank you

  Oh vienna loves her carrotys too. Vienna likes to chuck stuff, try making towers, barricades, I make a ‘wall of balls’ . Toys only generally work for me if she can get something out of them.

  Try apple wood, willow works too, but Vienna can devour a whole apple branch in a day .
