what did he have a vaccination for?

here in the u.s. they don’t require vaccinations, so i was just wondering. i know there are other members from australia who could give you info about that. i would definitely call your vet, but if the limp is that bad or gets worse your little guy might need xrays.

Calici virus… As a baby they have their first shots then a monthly booster after that its annual.
Unfortunately they are not allowed to vaccinate against Myxi even though a vaccine exists.

Is it possible that he hurt himself either in transit or at the vet? Visits to the vet can be pretty stressful, and a scared bun trying to run away from grasping hands or sharp needles could easily hurt himself. Does he guard the paw if you try to touch it, or pull away if you gently manipulate it? If so, I would call up the vet and see if you can have his paw checked out.

I have heard of this happening following calici shots (using cylap). The vaccination can pool in an area (often the leg) and cause an irritation). Sometimes a skin one too so watch for that. Its important the injection site is massaged a bit after injecting so the vacc is dispersed better.
I’d ring the vet and ask if theyve seen irritations following the shots and what they advise perhaps.

Otherwise, it may be a sprain as suggested.

ETA: I’m glad the rabbits played nice. They are pretty cute how they respond to one another. Please be very careful though as when they start to mature, they can start to fight. It’s quick and can cause injury fast.
Also be very certain of the sex of your friends rabbit (and yours!). It’s very surprising how early on rabbits can breed.
