How long has he been this way?

Problem is, though the gut slow down needs to be turned around, so does the reason as to why it has slowed. Like if a rabbit is dealing with pain (eg. from post -surgery, from an injury or spider bite etc).

When I’ve done tummy massage with the buns they lay there and allow. Any other time they won’t let me touch the tummy. It sort if tells me that tummy discomfort is the problem and the massage is giving some relief.

If Remmy didn’t fight it, it might give you a clue also.
You can always try the simithecone that the article mentions too. But it’s not a cure-all.

Perhaps the closer vets could consult with the rabbit savvy one that’s 2 hrs away?

It’s disappointing you got no joy with the emergency clinics. Did they say don’t bring him in or were they just forewarning you?

Surely they could do some basics like check temp, check hydration, give pain relief if suitable.
For a gassy tummy (if that) even the car ride to the vet can help.

I would also suggest that even if you can’t get a really sick bun to a rabbit-savvy vet right away — you should still take him to any emergency vet clinic right away. Typically, they can check the basics and see if they can figure out what’s wrong (if it’s simple) or call someone who may know what’s wrong and give him a look-over. It’s better than nothing in a real emergency. My vet informed me that a lot of emergency clinics know the basics of rabbits, just not extensive, so they can usually do something to help the situation even if they can’t actively treat him thoroughly like he needs to be.

You guys can correct me if I’m wrong — I just heard this from my vet and have always seemed it a good solution if we can’t get him to a rabbit-savvy vet right away.
