Callie is freaking GORGEOUS! I bet my two boy buns would fall head over heels trying to bond with that little beauty! How old is she? My boys are still very young and has seemed to be very accepting of other buns so far (which I’m convinced is due to their still fairly young age!).

CinnabunMom – Yep! Lola’s still around! I’ve just been too busy to spend a lot of time here … I try to keep up and read the threads but my thesis has kept me from responding.

Bonding Lola has been a fail.  She is just after blood and wants nothing to do with her temporary boyfriend so our house currently looks like the below.  Yes, that is THREE barriers between them – poor bun just gets beat on and this is the only thing that will keep Lola away.  Dexter (the foster bun) is a DOLL – seriously, he is such a well-mannered little gentleman (PERFECT litter habits and doesn’t so much as lick the carpet)… He is going to go back to the San Diego Rescue this weekend after being with us for a little over a month and I hope he finds a forever home soon.  I get teary-eyed just thinking about it even though I prepared myself with the possibility of a failed bonding.

Awww Dexter looks like a sweetie! He’s like,” you ok in there hooman? That bunny might eat you!”

Haha – it’s SO true! I never saw the vicious side of Lola but apparently she doesn’t like her own kind – they are just competition for all the noms and nose pets. It’s going to break my heart though to give up that little face. Such a cutie.

aww so sad to hear, I had the same issue with a couple of my buns but we just keep them separate, I didn’t the heart to let them go. We have a complex home with each having free time. it works for us, but not for everyone.

Lola is beautiful …… So sad that they could not get along, Dexter looks like such a sweet bun. When I got Nermal back from the people who adopted her it was immediately obvious the bond between her and Pipi was gone, if not with the rest of the warren, they would happily kill each other if given the opportunity, but there was no way I could part with her again. I just get better at building barriers and scheduling playtimes. I am just hoping the spays will sort everything out.

Awh I’m so sorry to hear it didn’t work out bmt. I remember you asking questions about getting a second bun but never heard you actually got one (well a foster that is). Looks like Lola wants to be the only diva in the house. He is a gorgeous sweet looking bun though. He’ll probably get a new home real fast

thanks and this is her okay molly is a female mini harlequin lop i think thats how you spell it shes 1 but shes turning 2 on the 25th of october (in 21 days) i didnt know i was getting a rabbit so my mum got her from a breeder i wanted to get one from the shelter but she didnt know that. shes very playful i havent got her spayed yet because i want to get her spayed in perth by a pro but where i live they dont do much work with rabbits at all so i think its safer to get it done some where else.

heyy cinnabunmom i dont give these treats to her much at all like 1 every 2 weeks and thanks for telling me seeds arnt good for them im not going to feed her those treats any more thanks again and there was corn in it and seeds and mini pellets and some other stuff but im not feeding them to her anymore thanks

As for the treats, I did the same too when I first got Bunjamin so don’t feel bad. Most important thing now is that you switch them BEFORE they become a stomach problem. My bunjamin boy also likes dehydrated greens like willow, cilantro, lettuce. And it stays good longer than most other treats. Put it in a bag that crinkles and you got great treats!

Roberta — LMAO!!!!!!!  My 3 terrors will eat your cat for dinner.  All my boyfriends friends make jokes about how they’re going to eat the bunnies every time they come over (they all LOVE trying eccentric food and love rabbit )  But anyways… I always tell them that my bunnies are evil (which I’m convinced they are)… and they will eat them before they even have a chance to open the cage.   Which I’m convinced they would.  I’m totally convinced my boy buns are demons disguised in bunny fur.  

BullRider — I’m a Republican and have my choice already picked BUT I thInk….. if Mr. Hopper got on the ballot I would have no choice but to support him..  Look at that hat, no one else would stand a chance!   The whole US would become bunny slaves and bunnies would rule the roost!  Carpet and craisins for everyone!  And hoomins will go in cages and come out when the bunnies allow.  *how it should be*

BMT — OMG.  He is GORGEOUS.  And I love his name, Dexter!  Hahaha.  I feel your pain though.  My boyfriend and I got a Lionhead before we got our 2nd two Tans to go along with our first boy Tan and my little Tan was in LOVEEEE with the new bunny (I think he’s in love with every bunny he meets though) but the Lionhead (Mario) thumped at him 800 times!  My boyfriend turned out to be allergic to the Lionhead — which we found out may have just been the timothy at the time because my baby boy Tan was on alfalfa — but all the same we had to give him up and it was absolutely heart breaking.  But we had told ourselves before hand that our first baby boy came first also and if they didn’t get along the other would have to go… But it was still heart breaking all the same.  Lola is SUCH a Diva!

Roberta — I just read your post in Septembers Picture Thread and omg. They were TINY. That is so sad that the neighbor is so inhumane. That’s just disgusting and revolting and every other word I can think of… UGH. Makes me sick really. I’m glad they are with a good home now though! And I hope all the other little guys found good homes also!

You’re right – it is heartbreaking.  We basically went into it with a similar mindset and knowing that a 500 sq. ft. apartment could only have 2 bonded buns as there is NO room for 2 completely separated areas. It ultimately wouldn’t be fair to them.

CinnabunMom – yes, they seem to be a little bit. when i look at her baby pictures to now they are a lot darker but i don’t think i notice it so much because i see her every day (….i.e. her face is always in my face….)

0molly0 – Lola is a ~10ish month old Lionhead/Lop. Her good looks get her out of a world of trouble. It’s hard to stay mad at that face. Your baby is so cute as well! And she/he? looks like a darker harlequin version of Lola…with shorter hair. They’d make a cute pair!

Finally — two of the rugrats are EXHAUSTED!  It’s always an excellent feat when you exhaust a Tan!  Much less two….

Miss Molly is so beautiful! I love all the subtle coloring in her coat. I’d be really curious to see what her coat looks like after her first shed. (My Skipper’s coat had changed a lot after her first blow out.)

Well… we originally only meant to get one…   We went and picked up our first baby boy Tan, Fleury, when the litter turned exactly 2 months old!  He was our first rabbit and to us, an amazing little creature! 

After doing much research — we decided to get him a furry little friend so he’d have someone else to play with that was his kind and not just the “Hoomins”…. … That’s how we ended up with Mario, the Lionhead.  The same night we got Mario my boyfriend had an insanely bad allergic reaction.  Assuming it was the long-haired bun bun, we heart-brokeningly took him back to the rescue where we had adopted him from….  Still wanting another bun friend for Fleury, we decided to do the easiest option and go back to the breeder we got our baby from to get another one from the litter…. This is how we ended up with Sidney.  We took our little boy along with us so he could pick who he wanted from the rest of his litter… Of course, he followed Sidney around like a lost puppy dog even though she kept thumping at him… LOL.  Of course.  She however looked EXACTLY like him and so I wanted the brown Tan but NO — my boyfriend and Fleury just HAD to bring this little girl home…  So off we went with our new girl, Sidney…. 

Another month went by… and we kept watching and waiting for the cute little chocolate Tan boy to be bought and sold by the breeder….. but he never was…. sooo this is how we came to the idea that we just felt bad leaving the little guy all alone …. LOLOL!.

And that’s how we went back and picked up the 3rd Tan…. Tanger. 

And don’t judge me TOOOO much — but we’ve been hardcore stalking the breeders website…. ONE little guy is left from my brats litter (there were only 4 buns in the litter) and he’s a Lilac Tan… SOOO GORGEOUS! But the breeder decided to hopefully keep him for breeding and showing…. We’ve been keeping our fingers crossed however that she will just decide to give him to us because we offered her over $100 to buy the little guy…

I don’t judge I believe in responsible breeding, even though they are few and far between.

@BMT: have you tried some bonding work outside of your apartment? Say at a friends place perhaps.

I’m sorry you might have to take Dexter back. It’s never easy. He got a whole month at least, having people doting in him.

Peter does this every evening. Usually he stops when I bring out the camera but I got to film him once.
Penelope sometimes joins in but not as entusiasticly. He can be even faster too sometimes.
Usually a few slow passes and then he gears up to full speed.

Yes. We’ve tried EVERYTHING. We started the bonding at a rescue away from home and she was a little agressive but not so much that we didn’t think it was possible….and since then it’s just been a disaster. We’ve tried bathtub, outside, my office at work, car rides, stroller….and the time limit on them being together before Lola gets agressive is about 5ish minutes…and that’s probably on the max end of things.  I just don’t know if she is SUPER territorial or just young and doesn’t get it (she’s almost a year).  The only time they had been kinda fine is when 2 people had their hands on them on the floor petting them both at the same time and almost instantly when you removed your hands she would start nipping and mounting him.  Poor little guy would put up with it for a few seconds before he retaliated and then they’d end up in circles. (They broke a strainer…no joke. ) We paused and took time off for a week and then tried again and it’s exactly the same.  

Ultimately, I’m throwing in the towel on bonding just because I am most concerned with them injuring each other.  The last thing I would want is to see one of them be seriously injured.

Where do you get your hay? I’m struggeling so hard finding quality hay around here, and I can’t find anyone that will ship hay to Norway..

Yes we’re all in Norway, Peter, Penelope and me…
Oslo to be precise.

I vary a lot as my buns seem to get tired of the same hay.
I buy large sacks of hay at my local petshop at Alnabru and it’s local grown, not imported.
The sack is guaranteed over 8kg I think, and usually between 10 and 12.
It smells fresh and nice and the hay is greenish and quite tough giving the buns something to chew.

It doesn’t contain much brown/wilted stuff but still the buns like to drag it all over and pee on it.
Sometimes they still eat it though, I guess I can just give up understanding these bullys.

I also sometimes buy the smaller 2kg bags as well as an occational bag of oats hay and such for a treat.
The buns seem to like the variation and it reduces the ammount of hay they waste as they usually eat most of the first handfulls of a different type.

Bullrider, I just realized Cinnamon has tanger’s ears. Maybe he has some tan in him?! Would explain the similar behavior

@FF I noticed that coloring too, I was thinking the same. lol he does have a few spots with that beautiful tan color.

All my photos seem to be of Bunny lounging on our bed. That’s where she spends most of her time, I think she just likes to be with us when we’re relaxing. 

This is one of her keeping me company and being super patient while I work on payroll and activity planning. Who needs a dog? :p

Finn is much more curious about the neighbor’s dog than Tofu was. This makes Slash (the dog) very happy. He loves to come and sit in front of our porch, in fact he pulls his owner to our porch every time he’s out for a walk. He knows he’ll get to see kitties, hedgehogs, and if he’s lucky… the bunny

I gave Finn a willow ball today. He liked it

I snapped a few new pics of Luna I would like to share.

I have recently begun expanding her play area to include my bedroom.  She LOVES my bed.  I just can’t seem to keep her off of it.  I wouldn’t be so worried if Marbles (my previous bunny) hadn’t of felt the need to repeatedly treat it like she would her litter dish.

Luna thinks I spend too much time online.  I told her I’m only on here checking out how to be a better bunny momma, but she doesn’t care.  All she wants is more strawberry.

I snapped this picture a few days ago.  That teddy bear has recieved a lot of bunny attention over the years.  Here’s Marbles at around the same age. 

It made me so happy to be able to get a similar photo of the two of them.

Zoo, have you tried putting litter in the litter box? I’m not sure where you are, but I love equine pellets/ wood stove pellets, they are cheap and work well. He might honestly just be confused because there isn’t a difference to him inside the box or outside.

Had to share this video, I made that treat ball thing like on the other thread, with a toilet paper roll, but I put a tiny bit of oats and banana in it, so the oats would fall out but they had to work for the banana. Really funny, Sam took it and ran but Lady got it back, then the video shows what happens when Sam is unhappy with Lady not sharing

Does anyone else have a bun that is camera shy?

Roscoe absolutey despises having his picture taken. I have to be a sneaky camera ninja to get pics of him lately! Last night he was doing the funniest thing. He kept tormenting my husband. He would try to get through the bunny-proof fence right by hubby’s chair. So hubby put a shoe box in front of it to block Roscoe, and so Roscoe started digging at the carpet in front of it. Hubby squirted him with the water gun, and Roscoe ran away.

So then began the torment. Roscoe would hide behind the chair across the room, peeking out at hubby. Hubby would turn his back or get distracted, and Roscoe would dash over and dig madly on top of the box, which made a lot of noise. Hubby would madly search for the squirter but by the time he turned around, Roscoe would do a high-flying binky away out of range.

And repeat over and over for like two hours. He would peek around the chair, dash over, dig madly, and then gleefully binky out of range of the squirter. It was hilarious! I wish I could have recorded it, darn it! So awesome…. Then when it was all over, Roscoe jumped up on hubby’s lap and nose-bumped his chin and then got down and flopped out, like “Ok, I’m done. Thanks for playing with me.”

And Hahahahahah, and FF — I totally didn’t notice that!  Maybe he DOES have Tan and that’s why he’s sooo insane!   I call my chocolate Tan, Tanger, the lemon bunny.  He’s not scared of anything.   Including any human that he meets.  Or the vacuum.   And he tries jumping things that he can not jump and falls flat on his face.  All.  The.  Time.   He’s a total dope.  And he’s always falling off the third level for some reason.  He’ll get all excited and will fall right off the edge.     This face () describes him so perfectly.

DaisyBinks — She’s freaking gorgeous!  I wish my buns would lounge with me for a long period of time.  They’ll exhaust themselves and plop down next to me… for like 5 seconds… and then Binky Off to find something new to destroy! She looks soo big!  How much does she weigh?!?!?

Zoologist — Finn is GORG!  Ahhhh, what a cutie!  And Slash is soooo handsome!  I love dogs like him, even though so many people think they’re vicious.  I think dogs are totally the product of their upbringing!  Such a gorgeous, gorgeous boy!

Memarie — I feel obligated to show you this picture of Tanger now…. The first night we brought him home, we had his cage all set up nice and pretty… and when I woke up in the morning this is what I came out too….

That brown mush beside his head is what was left after his pellets after he flung them all over the cage and then proceeded to flip his water dish on top of the pellets…. and yes, he’s standing up THROUGH where his water dish SHOULD be… and yes, his hay holder is flipped half way off the side (which was actually PHYSICALLY attached to the cage)…. Oh, and there SHOULD be one of those toys that hangs from the ceiling made out of nothing but metal welded together with little wooden pieces and a bell on the end ( I think they’re called Kabobs?) …. should be there.. but nope, he tore the whole thing down and then apart so we found all the pieces flung everywhere through his CareFresh!   Yepp, this was what I woke up to the morning after we got my darling, sweet little Tanger…

Also, Luna is sooooo ADORABLE!!!  I love the pic of her on the bed with that one loppy ear!!!!

So, I’m sitting here… once again, enjoying my cup of coffee… when I heard a big bang and crash.. Look over and this is what I see…

Early morning clover patch stroll and pondering in the garden.

Pre-breakfast appointment with the fridge. Timing is crucial.

Most important task of the day: menu planning. No hoomin food allowed. Occasional juice and milk allowed.

Hard work calls for a mid morning nap.

Followed by an afternoon nap on the bed as soon as the hoomin has left for work.

Followed by Yoga when the hoomin gets home.

Followed by an appointment with the brush for a whole body groom, and a bed time story from my hoomin.

Then we go to sleep to rest after a full day of hard work.  No moving hoomin!

 Ive been wanting to show  BBers the trio as they are “wild” rabbits. They were orphans and raised from 3wks of age. They are now about 9 months old I think. Rascals!

Yes. They were so funny to watch. Act just like my other rabbits. To those who are unaware, the wild rabbits here are the European rabbit, same as the domestic pet bunny.

Yep, its part of the laws for any animal they consider a pest or feral I.E. Foxes etc. You are supposed to hand them in or kill them depending on whether they are classed as game or not. People don’t seem to realise when they dump their domestic cats rabbits and dogs here that it is not only humanitarian laws they are breaking. Thankfully most vets turn a blind eye to a rabbit rescued from the wild but the others Not so Much…. Thats why we are having so much trouble getting councils to accept the catch neuter release programs for feral cat colonies. If you let them know they are there they will send in people with traps and baits..

My two fuzzbutts are great, but the local petstore has a boy lionhead with light-brown and white fur that just looks like an explosion in a stuffed animal factory.
He is a returnee as the customer thought he was buying two girls. Instead of just having him neutered (which costs $200 here) he wanted two girls. They ofcource told him that they should still be spayed to avoid terrotorial and/or medical issues but some ppl are just stupid and should not be allowed to own pets. So, they simply forced him to give em back.
Now they offer to give him to me, knowing he would get good care and a lot of love and attention. I am torn apart by all the concerns.
+ I love him, he’s an explosion in fur, a symphony in fluff and generally very trusting and easy to handle.
+ He’s a LOP!
+ My two buns may like another companion
+ I have room for him
+ I get to snuggle 3 buns!

But then there is:
– My two buns may not take kindly to the idea of sharing their slave
– Peter may not like the idea of another boy close to his Penelope.
– Spaying should be done and is $200 so a free bunny is not free. Then there’s vet visits…
– Hay bills will increase…
– My snuggling will have to be split 3-ways.

Tough choice…

I would die if my pet shop had lionheads. I’ve been desperate for one for months. Just wanted to point out though that if it has loppy ears then it isn’t really a lionhead. Could be a lionlop or just an oops litter between a lionhead and some type of lop eared rabbit. If you feel like he is for you then I think you should do it if you are willing to keep him separate if the bond doesn’t work out. !

OMG, these photos are SOOOO adorable!!! I love them all! CK’s photos really cracked me up because my bunny does the same thing – raid the fridge, flop, run around, flop, eat some more, do yoga, flop again.

Sorry for the late reply, haven’t been on BB much the last couple of days.
Ugh I wish there were petstores like that around here (Kristiansand), I haven’t found one that carries quality hay around here yet.
But, I did get a hold of a type of hay that is a little more green than the hay we used to get, but it’s very soft. However, they have added bits of dandelions in the hay, and this is making Bosse eat more hay! so there’s progress

Robyn, Max is an african pygmy hedgehog, not the european hedgehogs you guys have over there. In the US we don’t have any wild hedgies, just the domesticated breeds. People always ask me if she’s a porcupine, lemur (???), or a tiny puppy

SOOOO… the newest Tan trouble-maker…  We recently decided to put their hay holders back in the cage and not just in the litter boxes since we’ve been going through so much hay since we reduced their pellets….  So rather than putting it in the bottom of the litter boxes we had a NEW set-up with the hay holders hanging INTO the litter box… so they could still munch and poo….  

Anyways… I think someone is angry that she can’t sit on the hay anymore… sooo took matters into her own hands…

Hazel, I like to think of them as glorified hamsters . They run on a wheel every night, you clean their cage once a week- super easy! The only thing tricky is their diet. It’s hard to give them everything they need since they’re insectivores and you can’t really get a variety of insects at petstores, lol. I feed Max a trio of high quality cat food and she gets meal worms as treats. Like I said in the chat, he waited until I was elbow deep in pumpkin guts to show any interest in eating the pumpkin so I don’t have any cute pictures of that

Bonding hasn’t gone terribly well with Finn. He’s still really standoffish. If I get into his pen he usually hops back into his cage so he can avoid me. It was nice that he chose to stay out on the porch with us today, even if he didn’t get too close. 

Hazel — being a bunny momma for 5 months now… I’ve gotten used to those little surprises…. Everrrrrywhere! *facepalm* You’d probably find this funny! For my boyfriends birthday I made him a dinner with dessert and the dessert was chocolate covered strawberries (which are one of his favssss) and so before I brought those out I brought out the dessert the buns “made” for him! It was a chocolate-covered craisin! Bahahahaha. They LOVE craisins and of course, the chocolate made it look like a bunny poo! DDD He thought it was hystericallllllll!!

Ugh, Zoologist — I freakin’ LOVE Blue. Every time BullRider posts and I see it in the forum log thinger I squeal with happiness hoping it’s Blue! I feel like if I had a Flemmie he would HATE me. I wouldn’t be able to ever leave him alone! It would be SOOO nice to have a bun that isn’t mentally insane though! I would LOVE to see how my little brats would react to a bun 4x their size! And LMAO about your comment on the Tans… HHAHAHA. I can’t help but think about when we were searching for a little bun and we were up against a mini-Rex and a Tan… we actually ended up choosing the Tan because he was GORGEOUS and we really wanted a playful, energetic bun! … The breeder told us Tans are notorious for being energetic and a lot of people don’t like the breed because of just how energetic and active they are. Well, we definitely got what we were looking for… Crazy, energetic buns. But they are perfect! They keep us on our toes for sure and I’m REALLY curious to see how they act as they age — if they stay this way (like the breeder said hers always have) or if they mellow out like most other buns. We saw the mother when we went to pick up our little guy and she was CRAZY energetic with her babies. Hopping around all over everrrrything! And jumping everywhere… sooooo I may have crazy little “teens” forever (except I won’t be able to blame it on their teenage months much longer..!!)

I really wanted a hedgehog until I just heard what they eat… Grosssssss. Why can’t they just eat veggies?? Then I’d want one sooo bad. My crazy rabid rabbits would probably use him as a play toy if I ever got one though… Bratscals.

Litter box, It was like 5x3x2 and he sat in it! Toy, it got flung around. Eventually I gave up and I haven’t bought a hay rack since. I use willow baskets and cardboard boxes and of course his litter box is a must for him

LOL Nikita, ya Blue has a HEALTHY appetite. he gets all the hay he wants, and about a cup of greens everyday. then I also give him about 3/4 cup of pellets. most days only once a day, once in a while 2wice a day if he is still hungry. between all of my buns we go through about a 50lb bag of pellets a month, which isn’t too bad since the bag is only $14. its the greens and hay that get pricy lol, so I shop around for them.

Welcomes, Memarie! Shockingly, only one major clean (everything vinegared, vacuumed, ect.) every Sunday and then litter box clean-ups once a day and then the stuff they throw everywhere and knock down and tear off about twice a day! hahahahaha.

OH I would love to get a large Bunny, but in Japan it is impossible as most places are only 50m2 and the biggest mansion is 94m2, and I would think a large bunny would need a larger area to open up to full speed. … Then again a running mill could work, does for cats in Japan.

Thank you tanlover14 and Skipper’s Mama, yes Japan is really different, coming from Australia and moving to Japan, it is sometime hard to get my head around a few things here, some of the TV shows if they were produced in Australia, the USA, Canada or the UK, people would be on the phone complaining with in seconds. I posted one such TV show on my Youtube channel and had people claiming Japanese are Paedophiles and Child abusers .. it was harmless fun and quiet common for Japan. 

Being in Japan now going on 10 years and I have opened my eyes, can now see how closed minded we are in the west.

Right back to Photos. Yuki chan is at the moment doing the Bunny 500 around my living room and once again using my Laptop and today the mouse as a spring board for flight, I think she wants to be SUPERBUNNY!

Yuki chan cannot just eat the hay from the out side of the bowl, she has a need to sit in the bowl with the hay and toss it outside of the bowl. (Oi Slave make sure you clean up before bedtime fank you!)

Press the audio button on the Icelandic part I didn’t choose Norwegian, because the name is actually a swedish pet-name, and we don’t pronounce it like they do in sweden, and the norwegian pronounciation is a bit off The Icelandic pronounciation sounded the most similar to how we say it

Tips for yawn pics: if your buns are laying around, all relaxed and stuff, and you happen to disturb them by walking past their cage or something like that, even if they dont really budge – they might, get your camera/phone out asap! If you’re lucky you might catch a yawn/stretch I wouldn’t intentionally interrupt them while they are sleeping by putting a cam in their face though As you can see (don’t know if you remember my other bosseyawn pic), both my pics are taken from a distance and I have just had the cam at the right place at the right time

Murasaki I grew up in a heavily Asian culture and found a lot the people to very open minded. I moved a about five years ago to Florida and the people in the area where I live so close minded. I would love to move to a place that is not judgemental.

Svandis that is so cool! I’ve always wanted to do a tour around Europe. I hate that the U.S. history is singular in mind. We heavily go over U.S. history and are negligant to other countries. Which would explain why on a whole the country is very snobbish and self-centered.

Skipper’s Mama, this is in no way US bashing, but what I found funny was when Sarah Palin was running in the last elections, a Japanese TV crew when to Alaska to chat to people about Sarah Palin, they then asked people to point to Japan on the map, 80% pointed to countries in SE Asia, like Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, 2 people pointed to China, 2 people pointed to New Zealand, 1 pointed to England … only 8 out of 100 knew where Japan was on the map.

@ Murasiki, no your not us bashing. It is sad when the average person in the us doesn’t know geography. I have a friend from the STATE of New mexico in the US, and he got asked where his green card was. he replied I am from new mexico not old mexico. this wonderful educated individual said it doesn’t matter which part of mexico you are from I need your green card to show you can be in the US. and this is just scratching the surface!! its truly sad.

I have to agree with Bullrider. You’re not bashing the U.S. Murasaki. =] I can understand how sad it is that our education level is completely tanked. I can completely attest to that fact since I’m going for my teaching degree. The observation hours I have done kill me because of the lack of quality education being given to these smart bright kids just kill me on the inside. But then again. I’m not the most patriotic U.S. citizen out there. I have a lot of quarrels with how the country is run and how we treat out military personal. We don’t give our service people enough created and they are treated really meanly on a whole. I currently work as a tutor at my college and I help out a number of service people. They are very reluctant to say that they are a vet. because they expect me to be mean to them! It’s so sad. But I feel so bad for them because I see the struggles that they go through to adjust to civilian life and it’s not easy. Any way sorry for the ramble. >.>

I had this wonderful Japanese ballet teacher growing up and when she would come back from her trips back home to Japan she would always bring us kids some treats. =] And how in the world did you get that shot of Yuki-chan without it going blurry? Skipper’s Mama, It is not just the US that treats its service personal like ★★★★ I spent 7 years in the Australia Army and when I left I could not get a job to save my life, everyone looked at me as a killer and nothing more.. I ended up leaving Australia and moved to Taiwan to find work and started using my skill and became a international close protection agent.

The Aussie guys returning back from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts are getting the same treatment I did over 20 years ago.

Yes PRETZ … new Halloween Tomato … I have set my Digicam to continuous shots so when she is doing the bunny 500 I can get clear shots … I just sort though the good ones and delete the rest … but I am using a Canon Powershot SX150 and sad to say it is the worst Canon I have ever owned. next week going out to buy a new Nikon.

Omigosh Baby is so cute! I hope one day Luna is that comfortable when getting her nails trimmed.

Went on my dads computer and found a lot of old pics. Found some of the tortoises I used to have, and of my bunny Dennis. He managed to escape from his cage when he wasn’t even a year old.. I kept him outside and knew nothing of how to take care of rabbits (I think I was 10 or 11). I still miss him terribly and I feel so bad for him, I wish I would have had the chance to improve his life.

I decided that Loki needed a bit more room in his crate, so yesterday I got some pine and today cut out the timber and nailed it together. I did remove the bit of timber in the front that was suppose to make it a ‘hidey hole’ cause it was too small for him and cut out a section of usable floor space. Now to give it a coat of varnish to make it pee proof

Can you use varnish? I’m pretty sure he will eat it, and the varnish will make him sick.

The other thing I can use is PVA glue, I know they used a watered down version of it for sealing under bathroom tiles etc so at least it will be waterproof. It’s the same stuff kids use in projects, goes on white and dries clear.

Does he pee so much that it’ll be an issue? Maybe someone else can chime in, I’m not sure if glue is any better. Maybe cover it with a bit of vinyl sheeting or floor tile if its that much of an issue?

Toady I would use stick on tiles instead of varnish or glue. I don’t want your bun to get sick.

Svandis your bun was beautiful! Don’t beat yourself up. You didn’t know any better. You gave your bun the best care that you could have. I have never seen snow before. That picture is…just…wow! Amazing!

I’m going to be honest. I have never seen snow before. Historically where I grew up before it was industrialized there had been snow in the surrounding mountains and if it got cold enough it would snow in the valley. However, with the amount of pollution that is there now there is no way it could snow. I had actually just learned a few weeks ago that there were different types of snow. xD I had thought that they were all the same.

Svandis, I bring snow in in a clean litterbox. This way the bun won’t get too cold. You might want to try that first to see if he likes it. Of course, you can’t mind if he tosses it everywhere leaving the floor wet for a while

FF that’s cute! It kind of reminds me of when we had our ferret Gillie. His favorite thing to do was “swim”. We would get a tupperware container and fill it with water for him. He would stick his head and front paws in it and pretend he was swimming. He was too funny. He would splash water EVERYWHERE. I really wish I had taken pictures of it.

So i put the blanket/comforter over Bosse cus er were having playtime in the bed, and he just flopped down under there lol, he was so cute! He still dosen’t want to come out. Gonna have to make him come out soon so he wont overheat

Skipper: I’ve yet to move to uni because of funds from Student Finance, but I certainly will . So at the moment I’m commuting and just staying overnight at my bf’s who lives close to the town I’m studying in.

There 8 weeks date is sneaking up on me and i’m already having nightmare of them ending up and bad homes were they are always in a cage or children hurt them or they don’t get the right food. You can start by asking your vet to keep her ears open. When Spockie passed, my vet asked me if I wanted to adopt a bunny but it was too soon. But she knew of someone who was trying to rehome one, so I was interested to hear her being on the lookout for a new slave. Vets know who has a good home.

Petfinder.com lists rabbits in your zip code range, and those are often local shelters, rescues, and foster homes. You can check out what’s around from there. Usually there’s a website link to a place that will give you an idea of how well their org. is run regarding bunnies.

Yea my vet said she would let me post a flyer on the board which i definably appreciated. I’m just working so hard to give them all the comfort and love so that they grow up well rounded and i’m terrified one bad home is gonna destroy all my hard work.
