  I looked through the board to see if any of the previous posts fit, but not really. If I’m being redundant, I’m sorry.
  
  I’ve had Lucy for about two weeks. I bring her with me to and from school every day. Lucy has been a very sweet little girl so far. She seems to really enjoy sitting on my chest while I read and pet her. She also loves running around my classroom doing binkies! Every day I fall in love with her more and more and couldn’t imagine not having a little bunny in my life.
  
  About two days ago Lucy starting digging at my shirt and nibbling similar to how my cats would suckle my clothes while they were kittens. Tonight I tried covering myself with a blanket so she could do her thing without hurting me. Unfortunately, my shoulder was not covered and Lucy chomped down on my shoulder, HARD! After screaming out in pain, I had my daughter put Lucy back in her cage.
  
  I’m at a loss. I think my feelings hurt worse than my shoulder, but I don’t really understand her behavior, if it should be a cause for concern or how to correct it if it is. She started licking my face and hands shortly before the digging/nibbling began. Are they connected? What am I doing wrong?

  First off is Lucy spayed? It is always a good idea to get a female or male rabbit spayed/neutered. Especially females since they have a 85% chance of getting ovarian cancer. It is a natural instinct for buns to like to dig. I’m not sure as to why she bit you. I’m thinking she was just being playful and got a bit feisty. I’m sure one of the other members will be around to give you some more insight. It is a good thing if your bun is licking you. It’s their way of showing affection. If she bits again just squeel real loud again and it should stop after a few times of doing this. She might not realize she hurt you. She may have licked you to say, “Sorry Ma didn’t mean to hurt you”.

  How old is Lucy? If she’s still a baby or teenager (under 1 year), most rabbits that age are still exploring and figuring things out, thus everything seems to go into their mouths, much like human infants and toddlers. My Frankie is about 13 weeks old and he’s still a curious little bugger, loves to nibble and lick at my clothes and everything else.

  My buns is an adult, but if I’m ignoring him and he really wants my attention, he has nibbled too hard sometimes. I squeal a high-pitched sound to let him know that is not ok and it hurt. Also, my first buns used to do that when she was bored. A bored bunny is always a bad bunny, so make sure there are lots of toys, dig mats, diggy boxes, etc to keep her busy.
