Our landlord caught the three kittens last night….looked them over and boy are they chubby… They were pretty scared which I can imagine and the poor mom is still looking for ’em. I feel so bad for her…

Here is what I know so far

Orange kitten- a wild child and might be the hardest to tame…I’m not sure what the plan is for this one yet.

Grey kitten- the calmest of the three and they said he is going to get her(?) spayed and keep her (yay!)

Black tort kitten- kinda halfway between the two…once she calmed down she was pretty docile and she will be ours if we want her…

He is going to keep them and socialize them a little bit and I’m actually gonna rub my daughter with her stuffed toy before her shower tonight and give it to him to put in the kitty area inside the house. That way they are used to the scent….and then maybe they won’t be as scared of her.

Once we get the kitty up here I’m going to enforce  a no picking up rule for my daughter (babykid or BK) cause she has actually tried to pick up her sisters dog (brindle pit bull) which is like 100lbs lol.  Bud too…but hed be a lil easier to pick up but probably more dangerous for both of them…

Any other tips for keeping kitty and BK safe would be greatly appreciated…

I’m trying to think of names for her before we get her up here (I say up cause we are on the 3rd floor) She is mostly black with one patch of orange over her left eye and some orange on her side.. Reminds me of war paint almost so i’m kinda thinking “Cammie” short for camoflauge..  I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!

Can you tell I’m partial to blk tort/brindle coloring? Our bud is a black tort and Diesel is brindle…and the new kitty is also a black tort….lol

        i’m tortally crazy!

I bet the orange one would come around with a little TLC…  Two kittens are better than one, that way they can wrestle and bite each other instead of your hands

Seriously though, our cat was WILD as a kitten and we kept saying “Why oh why didn’t we get her a playmate!!”

I rescued my cat when she was about 3 weeks old. She was a feral kitten. I had to bottle feed her and everything. She was such a sweet kitten…Now she is a devil cat! Man last night she was in my room because I mistakenly left my bedroom door open and she was laying on my bed and I had to get her out. It was the worst thing ever! She bit me and hissed so loud and growled like you wouldn’t believe. She HATES me and I have no idea why. All I was was nice to her. =( She LOVES my mom though. lol

I love tort/brindle animals. So pretty. My cat is grey…lol

Good luck with the kitty! Hope it doesn’t turn into a psycho like my cat. lol

We rescued a grey kitten last year i think it was and the mom was feral…and she turned out to be a devil cat too….that is what im afraid of…but the mom seems pretty laid back…

It was enough talking my hubby into letting us get the first one…and he is very adamant about it being a girl…and In my mind if I couldn’t get the blk tort I was thinking about the grey one but our landlord called dibs…and honestly…i dont need another devil cat…

and actually all the solid orange cat (tabbys or not) have been male…so i doubt I’ll be able to convince him of that lol. (he has a thing with male cats spraying which i know generally quits after they are fixed…but dont tell him that >.<)

I know this isn’t commonly known, but females spray too! So there you go

Don’t under estimate the orange wild child. My Finn Gall was one of two feral kittens I rescued and rehomed a few years ago. The same family took both then returned Finn because he was disruptive. Poor little mite was jsut trying to protect his brother. They had taken them home and let them loose in the house then got annoyed when both kittens hid. Then they stuck them in a giant Xpen enclosure in the middle of the lounge with blankets but nothing to hide in. No wonder he was hissy and bitey. I had them both calm before the left by giving them a quiet room and time to get use to humans.
Any way Finn got sent back and after a week of living in the bathroom with rugs and a box to hide in he actually started to seek my company. That was when I knew we had turned the corner from feral kitten to domestic companion. He is now the most loving cat of 3 yrs and dotes on his elderly step sister Twinkletoes (20 yrs old) and such a character. I am rather glad the idiots gave him back to me.

hmmm, that is a good story. He’d might be okay with it since during the week i dont work…just the weekends until i pick up more hours (we also gotta find a daycare too) he is just being a jerk about the gender thing… ugh

I used to have one of those hidey houses….but i’m sure it would be easy to build one…I’ll have to see if there are any woods that are bad for cats…

I really wish we hadnt gotten rid of that other bunny cage…but we didnt really have room for it when we didnt have a second bunny :/

Oh yes! Girl cats can spray. There was even a girl cat on My Cat From Hell that was spraying all over the house like an intact tom cat.

None of my boy cats have sprayed. But I also had them desexed at 6 months. They generally don’t start spraying till they hit puberty just like bunnies. The only sprayer I have is my elderly female Twinkletoes and luckily she only seems to target strange cars in the driveway and previously the neighbours door mat before the house sold and new people moved in.

I love that show….I must have missed that one..hmm

I admit I’m more bun savvy than cat savvy…..maybe there is a house cat forum somewhere? lol
