So after about 3 months since losing our Thumper, another bunny has found its way into our life. We got a call from our vet office about an abandoned bunny. We have become first on the list for them to call for abandoned bunnies since there is no shelter that really takes rabbits in the immediate area. Luckily it doesn’t happen too often because out limit is pretty much four.
This poor little girl was left behind a local restaurant in a cage also with an abandoned kitten. This is pretty serious because we are currently having 110 degree days. The owners of the place called our vet office and they contacted us. We now have her after a clean bill of health from our vet. She is a very loving bunny and her personality exhibits that of a bunny that was handled extensively by people. We are hoping she will actually be a good bonding partner for our Californian that the other two bunnies haven’t ever been able to get along with. We are keeping the new bunny in another room for two weeks just for a quarantine period, then we can try our luck.
Our hearts just ache though, because for whatever reason she was abandoned, whether it be selfishness or desperation, we know at one point someone loved her dearly and they may never know she will be safe and sound for as long as she lives.
Anyway, enough of the story, let me introduce our newest, Charlotte!
