So this is slightly hyporctical since I got Tu from a pet store, but it was wayyyyy better than this!
My sister and I went to a movie, and then hung out at the pet store while my mom went grocery shopping. I immediately went to where the bunnies were kept and just about threw up. There ‘pen ‘ was probably 3′ by 3’ and was one of those large glass tank type things. There were about 15 buns in there! And they had no pellets, only TIMOTHY hay, even though they were obviously quite young. Anyone could pick them up, and they were practically picking them up by there ears! It was awful!

It is sad, however, you can do something. Print out a sheet of rabbit information from rabbit.org and give it to the pet shop so that they can change their attitude about rabbits.

Don’t worry, I got my rabbit from a breeder. But in the future, I intend to take her to the shelter to pick out a friend

I cant go in pet stores because I just become angry. I dont think animals should be treated like objects and pet stores play a part in why shelters are overun with rabbits.

One thing you can do is not support pet stores. Buy all your supplies from shops that dont sell animals. And write a letter telling particular pet stores that you will not shop there while they sell rabbits.

Yes ditto-vote with your dollar, buy only at stores that sell healthy products and don’t sell animals; better yet to support stores that support rescues.

At least they had hay… many pet stores don’t bother giving them hay.

Awh that’s awful I recently went to a farm show kinda thing, and they kept buns there in such small cages it was so sad (( they auctioned off very expensive bunnies too. And they were kept in boxes that were like 1’x1′ or less. It was so sad I almost cried, and I made my mom leave the bunny area and we went to look at cows :/ which were well kept in a fenced off field. I dont understand how some people treat some animals so good and others like they’re nothing.

I had a really bad experience getting a rabbit from a pet store. I now rescue mine from a rescue group! They are alot cheaper and they are fixed!
