We are new bunny owners. We adopted Little Doll almost a year now. She is an adult, not sure how old and not sure what setting she lived in before.
I’ve been trying to litterbox train her. I used to keep her in a very large cage with mesh floor, and she peed anywhere she wanted.
Now she lives in an x-pen in our living room. I put 2 litterboxes filled with rabbit paper litter. She likes to sleep in her litterbox. When she sits in it she pees and poops there. But she will do the same in her cuddle cup or anything soft like blanket or folded towel that I put for her comfort. I followed advice of some members and removed Cuddle cup for few days but it didnt help. She will pee in anything soft. I am glad she at least doesnt pee on the x-pen mat.
The problem is that when she soils cuddle cup and sits in it her legs and tummy become soiled. It is better if she sits in the litter because it absorbs urine.
Should I just have 2-3 litterboxes filled with paper litter or paper bedding and let her sleep there. I feel bad to take cuddle cup away because she loves it
Any suggestions?
