Charlee got a new antibiotic-Baytril a couple days ago and I’ve been having a HORRIBLE time trying to get her to take it by syringe. so far each time it takes about 2 hours. She HATES being picked up-so she justs hides under the bed or in her condo or just out of my reach.
The first time I was able to bunny burrito her, I think because she did not know what I was doing…now every time she sees a towel she hops in the other direction. I try not to just grab her because she kicks fiercely and I don’t want to scare her, more so then she already is. I’ve tried covering her with a towel and then picking her up but that too has only worked the once or so before she caught on. I got almost her full dose in tonight before she started kicking so I immediately set her down, I don’t want her to freak out worse than she already does or injure herself. I’m close to the ground when I do this, to try to make it better. I thought maybe putting the 0.1-0.2 mL on a piece of dandelion green would work because it did for her last antibiotic if/when I had trouble with her but she seems almost scared by the smell of this Baytril(its suppose to be banana flavoured) and hops in the other direction…I assume it must be dreadful tasting
I don’t know what to do with her! I need help. She does seem to finally be showing signs of improvement so I reallyyy don’t want to miss any doses!
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!
