There is one in Alameda that I have heard is good with rabbits, though I have never seen this vet:

The vet I see is Carolynn Harvey and she is very well known for being rabbit-savvy.  

You just take 880 south to 238 — it’s pretty easy to get there from Alameda, about 15-20 minutes South.  Just don’t attempt getting there during rush hour — otherwise you could double or triple your time.  Especially getting to 238.

As far as boarding right in Alameda, I don’t know.  But in the East Bay, you can contact the House Rabbit Society Headquarters.  I boarded my bunnies there once a long time ago, and it went very well.   They took good care of them.

I’m from Alameda, and I have been taking my buns to the VCA in Oakland, mostly because I moved there recently, but also because I was offered a free first exam there after adopting from OAS. I hear Dr. Harvey is THE vet to go to, so I recommend going there. The vets at VCA vary in bun savyness, Dr. Bynum is apparently the one to ask for, I’ve had her look at my buns once and she seemed pretty knowledgeable. Don’t get your buns neutered there though. A great place, and the cheapest around for awesome boarding (and great, fresh, cheap hay) is RabbitEars. Its located in El Cerrito which is a 25 minute drive, but totally worth it. Its a great store, and its a rescue. They charge $17 a pair per day and give better rates for a whole week. The people who work there are super friendly and obviously care a lot about rabbits. The HRS and Save-a-Bunny are also great options, but are farther away and cost more even as a memeber there (and usually a couple dollars more if not a member)

I ditto!!!   VCA Oakland is my backup.  Dr. Harvey used to be the vet there.  I ditto Dr. Bynam too. There is another vet there (starts with an A— Arntz I think) that is also good with rabbits.  Though Dr. Harvey is my first choice, she is only available Wed – Saturday at Chabot, so if for urgent reasons, I need to see a vet on the other days. VCA is open 7 days a week, and open later, I will go to VCA. They also take “Care Credit” credit so I can use that card if things get too pricey.
