It is possible that the he would be less of a bond with you, but my bunny still has a great bond with me so I wouldn’t worry about. I want to warn you that spaying a female is very expensive so make sure you can afford it. Also un bonded bunnies are twice the work and difficult when having to worry about splitting up play time. There is also the possibility that they will not bond and you will have to keep them apart. Bonding can be long and stressful too. I am not trying to talk you out of it at all! I just want you to make sure your ready for it!

The bunny is very cute! Do they mention why they are rehoming it? Also remember even though it is friendly at 6 weeks their personalities can change.

I would look into the cost of spaying – it is not cheap. And there is no guarantee that they will bond. It is not easing bonding rabbits and takes alot of commitment. I do remember you have had some frustrations with caring for Milo because having rabbits is difficult.

I say just enjoy Milo as a single rabbit.

It will take a long time for the new rabbit to be old enough to spay, and when she’s ready it could be hundreds of dollars for the procedure (around me it’s $300 minimum). After that, she still may not bond to Milo and you could have two habitats in one small bedroom. It’s also likely that both rabbits will mark their territory against each other, so that’s two rabbits pooping all over your room.

Definitely hold off. When you’re older and on your own with more space it would be a better time to think about getting a second.

I have had single rabbits twice, first Spockie for 8 years, then after he crossed the bridge, Sammykins for the past 3 years.
I’m a big believer in bonding with your single bunny, and not introducing a second rabbit unless you have a very strong, independent financial base, room to spare for two, and time to work on a slow and steady bonding process. If you live with family, it’s not very hard for them to live with your single bunny, but it can be a group undertaking to add another, so be sure this is your decision alone. Think ahead about where you will be living over the next 10 years, too, because you will need space and permission to have 2 bunnies in any new home you may move to.

Milo will not be lonely with only you. They sleep during the day when you’re at work or at school. They have morning and evening routines around your own meal times, so it’s a great time to bond and eat together. And they do well with a few hours of play/exercise time daily. I really think it would be great to enjoy Milo for a few years alone, for both of you.

I only have one bunny and I sometimes think about getting another but I like the one on one bond I have with Goblin, he is very attached to me and I love our bonding moments. Plus his care is expensive especially now that he has maolocludded teeth ( although since he refuses to chew anything anymore I guess it evens out? ). You will have to buy twice the hay, vegetables, pellets, chews, litter, etc. I’ve also heard bonding takes a lot of time and can be stressful and even then they might not bond and you have to keep them separate.
