A couple of months ago I noticed a spot on Liam’s back, about the the size of one of those big pencil erasers, where the hair was mostly gone and he had a lot of flakes. Took him to the vet, he said it was localized and not irritated, (ie, not itchy or painful, or Liam wasn’t scratching) so wait and see. I put coconut oil on it for a few days, for both moisturizing and antifungal properties, and it disappeared.

Last night I had him in my lap, and I found two more, different spots on his back. Both small, no hair loss, but a lot of flakes, and not really like dry skin flakes. I would describe the texture as more like scabs that have fallen off or are loose and peeling. At first, I thought maybe Sophie had scratched or nipped at him. He doesn’t itch or bother them at all, though he does purr when I try to gently scrape some of it off.

Back to the vet I go, though i don’t expect much. They did a great job with their well bunny visits, but I’m not sure about taking medicine from them. Has anyone seen this sort of thing before on their bun? Is it just dry skin, or something else?
