Nope.  Not a new bunny or anything.  Although I wish! lol

I got accepted into a local college!  I will be starting in the fall and getting my BA in Business Administration.  My classes will be online. I went to college for a few years to get my english degree but due to life in general and major depression, I ended up dropping out.  I can’t go back to finish that degree since the classes are at wacky times.  This other college is geared towards working adults while the other was an actual university where the main students are 18-22 year olds with no jobs.  LOL

Once I have completed the degree, I am wanting to go into non-profit.  Either for an organization that helps animals or people.  I have a need to help in some capacity but health issues prevent me from being hands on.  So working in an administrative capacity is the next best thing!

            That’s wonderful!
Be sure to check with your current school to ask if you can transfer the credits you earned previously toward your degree. I don’t think online accredited colleges limit themselves, so you may be much farther along if you get the paperwork from your former college sent to the new one. It could save you a semester or more.

Also, tuck in the back of your mind that local gov’t. jobs are a large network of organizations that help people and animals, too. I didn’t land a job with my local parks department, but I did interview and really wanted that. I would have been working on the website that promoted the nature areas I love to visit. Those advertise weekly at your city’s name, dot org. (And they may have internship jobs too, while you’re enrolled if you need it.)

Sounds like this is just the right thing for you. Congrats! Can you transfer your credits there? Pam is right, it can save you from having to re-take stuff.

Congrats! This is a big deal. Depression can be so debilitating. It’s great to hear you’ve found something you connect to.

Remember you’ve got people here to nut stuff out with if you feel the “going is getting tough”.

p.s. Lolli is going to disapprove of you spending so much time studying and not paying her attention. :p

I will be transferring classes. Basically all my general ed courses minus the math. Cause…well…I suck at math. I had to take entrance/placement exams and the reading/grammar was fine. But I cursed the stupid math the whole time. LOL

Thanks everyone. I am nervous. I have tried taking a class here and there during the past couple of years and my issues got in the way and I’d just quit going. But this is giving me purpose which is what I definitely need. My long term goal is that hopefully once I’m done, I can find a job a that pays more than $10/hr. My short term goal is just to take it day by day, semester by semester.
