Hunny’s hormones have been a bit outta whack for a couple weeks now… Nothing major some marking & nipping & a lil’ bit what I’ve been referring to as Bunny PMS any way… Since day one I have put her hay in the front half of her litter box (that’s how I had read to litter box train her) and she would do her business in the back half & it worked like a charm… she boxed trained in less then 2 days BUT last weekend I noticed that she had started peeing on the hay then was flipping around & pooping in the back of the box. Well I started to freak out cause I’ve read about E. Cuniculi & that is shed from the urine & then ingested… So I started to put her hay in the hay rack/feeder that I had and attached it to the side of her pen still in the front half of her box but not in the box so there is no way she can pee on it BUT now she won’t eat the hay… Maybe a couple nibbles here & there but that’s it! Before she’d be constantly munching on it… Now the pellets that I buy her are made with natural ingredients & Timothy Hay is one of the main ones – here’s a copy of the label – So do you guys think it’s ok that she’s cut back on eating the actual hay?? Do you think that after a while she’ll get use to it not being in the litter box… Her poops haven’t changed any… still big round & plenty. I just know how important hay is to their diet so I wonder –
