  I have a call into the vet already and we are going tomorrow, as Cupcake hasn’t eaten anything today or yesterday. This was the soonest I could get in and I am super worried about her! I have a whole smorgasboard of items for her to munch on and drink and she wont take any of it. I tried giving her water with a dropper, but she wont take that either. Anyone have any ideas that I could try in the meantime until me vet visit? I’m so worried about my baby!
  
  Could it also be possible that she is angry at me for getting another bunn? I brought Dizzie home about a month-ish ago and I just started to bond them.

  I doubt that is the reason that she is not eating – rabbits don’t have the capacity to get angry.
  
  Can you grind up some pellets and make a mush and syringe feed her? Just add water to the ground up pellets to make a slurry.
  
  Also, many vets will allow you to drop off your rabbit and they can see them in between appointments – that is what I always do.

  She doesn’t much like the syringe. She moves her head awway from it, but I will definately try! I tried on my lunch to give her some water that way and she didn’t want any of it. I will try and try again! She’s never gone this long without food.

  Definitely keep trying with the syringe. When they don’t want to take any it can be frustrating, but any little bit of food you can get in them is good…if anything, they’ll at least clean the mess off their face and eat it. Best wishes for the bun!

  My bunny hated the syringe too, but I figured out a way that worked that might help you. I would wrap her up securely in a blanket or towel and maybe have someone else hold her. Then try inserting the syringe as far back in the side of the mouth as you can (behind teeth), rather than trying to put it in the front of her mouth. I hope this helps! Vibes to Cupcake!

  I dont think i got much in her with the syringe, but she did get some. Here is what she ate yesterday: (which is better than nothing, but i am still concerned)…one strong of cilantro, a few chunks of kale, half of a baby carrot, a honey stick/treat & fresh grass. I didnt notice her drinking anything, but she isnt a “drinker” much anyway. I made sure her veggies were wet this morning when i gave them to her…sadly, it didnt look like any that i had given her last night were gone. her pellets werent touched either (which she usually eats right away. she took a liking to them again when i got my second bunny. jealous much, Cupcake!?!?!). She still seemed to have some of the energy she usually does, but not completely. I did see her eat some hay this morning too…but only a few pieces. I’m wondering if its something with her teeth now instead of constipation, which is what i originally thought. She had some poo’s in her box last night and this morning…

  Well, rabbits don’t get constipated like humans do. It very well could be dental. Don’t you have an appt. today?

  Try oats. Like oatmeal oats. When Rexxy won’t eat, he goes for that at least.

  I do have an appointment today. I’m done with work early, so I plan on trying a few things with her. Carrot/apple baby food was suggested and I am also going to try a bunny massage. Maybe that will help if something isnt moving quite right inside her. I’ll try some oats too…

  I’ve heard that apple juice can help also for them to drink.

  I took her into the vet yesterday. They gave her fluids under the skin, meds and Critical Care. She did well when they were giving her fluids and did well with her medicine, but HATES the Critical Care. I added water to it and used a syringe to get it into her, but she wont swallow or lick, so it just sits in her mouth…that is if she even lets me get it INTO her mouth. I eventually get some, but its not the amount the vet told me to give her. I bunny burrito her and try giving it to her that way. Any other ideas??

  What size syringe are you using? I suggest a 10cc syringe – I take the big huge syringe that they always try to give and fill it up. Then I pop out the plunger of the 10cc and fill it with the critical care. That works better for me when hand feeding.

  I’m not sure what size the syringe is, but its definately bigger than the one for her liquid medicine.
  
  The vert said she has a small case of stasis. She is at work with me now…eating hay, collard greens and parsley. I even saw her drink a little bit! I’m very hopeful

  I’m glad she seems to be doing better. Since she hates Critical Care maybe she will eat ground up pellets mixed with water? It might be worth a try. Did the honey/treat stick have seeds in/on it? If so I would suggest not giving her another because rabbits aren’t supposed to eat seeds (sorry if the stick doesn’t have seeds and me telling you this is pointless, I see a lot of honey/seed sticks sold as rabbit treats)
