I’ve had Hunny since she was 9-10 weeks old (at her 1st vet check she weighed 4.25lbs) & today she’s just over 4 months old & she’s weighing in I’d say at 9-10lbs (give or take a pound), I’ll know her actual weight next week when she goes back to the good ol’ doc to get spay… I feel she is very healthy, she is very solid def not “fat” BUT sometimes I feel she’s getting the right amount of food, sometimes I think “What if I’m feeding her too much” & other times she acts like she’s starving… So I’m here to ask & I’m hoping there’s someone whom is experienced with Flemmies who can give me their 2 cents… Her normal daily diet is as follows –
Unlimited Hay (Timothy & Oat) & once in a while a sprinkle of alfalfa
Unlimited Pellets (Sherwood Forest All Natural) – “Unlimited” is about 1.5 – 2 cups a day
1.5 – 2 cups Fresh greens (romaine, dandelion greens & parsley mix or a combo of) twice a day
and finally she gets a morning & evening treat (1 slice of either apple, pear OR papaya OR a 1 baby carrot)
In your opinion (as most of you are experienced bunny moms & dads) is this a proper diet?? I mean I got a Flemish Giant because I wanted a big bunny BUT I DO NOT want a fat, unhealthy, OVER weight bunny… I want her to live a long happy, healthy life.
